5 GT Turbo EFI - GT Turbo

Certainly interesting to see the actual difference, normally people change loads between,
This is purely the head

If you don't get close to 250 I'll be surprised
It will, I've heard from many people 'head work makes no difference' but I'm seeing a good number of well tuned efficient C1j's which all have had larger valves / gas flow etc.
Seeing 230bhp @ 19-20 psi was stuff of myths, but I have seen this a few times now on worked headed C1J's. 250 is an incredible ask for the Ol 1.4, but I hope this is another success story.

It's certainly worth trying and as others have said this is a really good comparison.

I'm intrigued to say the least. 250 might be a bit too much of an ask. Low 240s would see me just over 300hp per tonne. That'll do.

I love this - it's only until you see the figures being pumped out as you motor is being beaten to death on the rollers that you really understand what it means.

I'm not looking forward to it as much this time as I knew the car in its previous form could take a beating. This time I've done all the work myself so if it goes tits up its only me to blame. Can't really give it the big un beforehand either. Fingers crossed !

Been out for some testing today and a spot of data logging. Fourth gear only the data log shows 19.2psi at 3950rpm which compared to previous head seems to be much lower down spool.

Sadly I won't be going up to Scoffs tomorrow now, the lad who was trailering me up has discolated his knee, Sod's law.

I've emailed Chris for a new date in a week or two. Hate relying on others and have considered just driving up but not sure I want to risk it. 5hrs there and back at a minimum plus it getting a beating on the rollers.

Times like this make me realise buying my own trailer is more of a priority than I first thought especially when I want to do some track/sprint stuff next year.

Yeah I'm a little bit gutted but can't be helped. The house move has to take priority over the trailer so that won't be happening until next spring/summer. Hopefully can sort something in the next week to 10 days.

Gutted for you Mark - hang in there all will be good. And yes, a trailer is the way forward for the reasons mentioned. I won't track mine until I get one, and mapping can go wrong, it's a wise descision not to take it, especially when you are stretching the c1j as hard as this.

Yeah I think it's the right decision to postpone, A few of said I should of just driven up but having done that journey a lot in my daily for work it's a bit of a nightmare let alone in an untested, paddle clutched, side exit 5.

Will await a new date and sort another way of getting up there. It's a shame as spent the last week getting everything ready and took a day off yesterday to do final checks.
