dodgy idle, sunroof leak!!

G

Guest

ok,

my idle seems to be quite high, its a 95 RSi and when at lights it idles just under 1500 rpm, when you come do a halt at lights it will drop eventually and then go up again gradually... sometimes just under 2000rpm???

what can it be??

also how the hell do i fix my leaking sunroof, hasnt done it since owning the car then yesterday, i think as the ice has got in a seal and expanded or something, it starting pooring in??

thanks!!!

im not 100% sure about the rsi engine, but on the valver engine it can be many things such as:-
lamba sensor
poor earths around the engine & bay
knackered TPS (that was my problem when my idle was ghey :( )
buggered ISCV

and thats just a few off the top of my head!

Get it resealed around the join between the roof and the sunroof rubber seal. Sunroof or windowscreen specialists will do it for about 70/80 quid. If not you could do it yourself with some decent window gunk but it could look messy!

Got mine done by a specialist and it hasnt leeked YET

mine idles high around the same as yours mate, i just had new lamba sensor ( £52 ) and that did fook all, just made my car more eco.

p`m coops about your idle, as he told me what was wrong with mine, he might know about yuors

try all above mate as said

but same happened to my car and it was a dogy spark plug not sparlking tiddy so check thay all the same distance apart

yeah ISCV is where id start, whip it out, good clean with some carb cleaner and water, quick spray with WD inside to help lube it, back in, make sure its all plugged right and give it a try

just put abit of vasiline round it tht what i did just so i cud make it to the garage without getting soaked and it never leaked so ive just left it lol
