have you tried a different ecu?
nope. Could be that of course. It was on a shelf in the garage most of the winter.
Lewis i'd have the ECU off u if i knew it'd be the solution!
have you tried a different ecu?
Same here. If it helps i had a similar problem & turned out to be the ecu causing an irregular idle & could sort of get by it, by fiddling with the throttle body idle screw. & then just got another ecu & was fine after![]()
Reno5gtt:
the problem i had still occurs when sitting in traffic after driving a whie (1/2 hours)
Plus the car idles high infrequently (1200 instead of 900 rpm)
I never solved the problem completely
lack of spark of sporadic failure is the ignition module which fail frequently. High heat and old age get to them. They can can fail/begin failing in a variety of ways.
however 90% of these cars have loom issues now, I have had to replace entire sections of loom that look ok but when pulled gently the copper inside has rotten away
The ignition module is the bit the coil sits on? I have very little experience with these engines, give me a 5 to work on anyday!!![]()
