86 Fuego Turbo

Thanks man, Currently it just off the road and waiting for an engine rebuild due to the cylinder liner seals expiring. Engine will be coming out in a couple of weeks.

Hi, did you see the post I put up yesterday, there is a photo of a Fuego Turbo I restored last year and another one I am working on at the moment! The post is in this section titled... Here's some photos for my mate Clive! YEAH!

Thanks. yeah, I am going to be moving before summer, so I wold like to have the motor back in the hole by then to ease moving and less likely to lose bits.

and I so miss driving this. so much

'Im back and work has started in earnest. this time I swear its true. The race car I have finally decided to put on hold and focus on the Fuego and getting it running before December when I have to move yet again and I will end up with even less money haha.

So Engine is built and waiting in a shed for me all glad wrapped up. haha. I started yesterday to strip front suspension out to be cleaned up and painted regrease the cv's with good grease, replace front discs and rebuild calipers. I do need new suspension, where and whom is best? My brother runs a parts company out here that gets regular shipments from england so I can probably add stuff onto that to get it over at a reasonable cost.

I will get a few little spots of rust fixed such as in the battery tray area, passenger A-Pillar and near the fuel flap.

Thanks for any help and cheers.

Sweet. so another good afternoon. after noticing rust on a pillar area behind guard I removed the guard after many strong words with the anti chip coating and seam sealer it was freed. Found more rust than could be seen. Bumper had to be removed too and found a little surface stuff behind that. things are snow balling.

I have ordered new front discs, pads and caliper rebuild kits today too. Now just to sort front suspension.

I also cleaned the RH suspension parts and rust converted them. To clean them I used a cleaning gun on the air compressor and some petrol. And a brush. works a treat.

Also please note that my phone gyro is broken so all photos are upright ones sorry

OK so unfortunately I have to move house so I have had to put some of the suspension in the front back together. Mind you it's mostly all be stripped cleaned really painted and checked over. I found a few rust holes in left a pillar that will need proper attention.

I had to put back together with no springs as they are bloody hard to fit. Also looking at doing some custom coil overs instead and something adjustable on the rear as I just can't find the suspension needed. Brake calipers have been re-built now too so things are progressing slowly

Next on the list is to find engine mounts and gearbox mounts as all have perished badly and then it's brake lines. Turbo re-build and then carb re-build too. All the little things. Unfortunately it's now going to have to not be at the same place as me as we haven't got a garage on the new place. Yet. As it sits currently.
