Managed to sneak a few hours in the garage this Bank Holiday Monday afternoon and it turned out to be quite productive!!
First I thought I would try & link up the steering column to the 182 PAS rack. I had a quick look at the column and figured I needed to shorten the column by about 35mm to fit with the 182 Rack, so I removed it from the car and had a little look:

I figured that the splined shaft was "adjustable" so marked the level for where I wanted it shortening to:

I then got my "Adjuster"
and made the adjustment..

.. and I'm pleased to say it worked a treat!!!
I ended up having to shorten the column by about 45mm in total to fit the 182 rack in the end.
Whilst the steering column was out (and I had some more room under the dash), I figured I would have a little look at the braking system as even though I fitted new/refurbished Calipers, Master Cylinder, Pads and Disks when I last did some work on the car, the braking system still didn't exactly inspire confidence on the car's last outing... So I wondered if the Servo was perhaps past it's best??

I had a punt on a new "RENAULT SERVO" on ebay some months ago for about £30, but it didn't say what car the servo was off so I thought I'd take a chance? I made a comparison with the OE Servo today and..... IT FITS LIKE A DREAM!! Direct bolt in replacement!!

The beauty is, it's a little bit bigger, and in my book, bigger is better!!
I took a few pictures to show you all for reference:

You see when it's fitted back to the car, you wouldn't notice the difference

I've since done a little bit of research on the part number that's on the Servo, and it appears to be a Clio 2 Unit?
Whilst I was still groping around the drivers footwell, I also took the liberty to change the accelerator pedal for a spare one I had, and the clutch cable for a new one, as I didn't know it's provenance???

Thanks for reading
