Clio Big Steve's RB Clio 182 Cup Restoration

and now figure out again why it’s not starting...

Again? FFS. Wiggle more things.

if its doing the same thing replace the relays.

Got it running again at the weekend and bedded the cam in with various minutes at various RPM between 2000 and 3000 rpm. What was the issue?? The F***ing cheap and nasty TDC Sensor I got.. Learnt something there!!
DON'T USE CHEAP SENSORS!!
So following that debacle, I've since replaced the MAP and Air Temp sensor, for OEM ones!!

Next step is to give it a little run up & down the street to check everything feels right, then go for an MOT.

I’ve just found a local place that’s making the right noises about powder coating them... will report back..

I'm also dropping the alloys off at a local wheel refurbishment place on Thursday to let them do their best..

Thanks for reading :)

“Hello Renault parts guy, can you get hold of a tin of the original 205110 Anthracite paint for my Clio 182 wheels, I’m getting them refurbished?”

“Yes, no problem Steve, £23 and it’ll be here tomorrow“

Oh FFS!!!!? :punish.gif:

So wheels dropped off at local restoration place, and they’re going to match the original paint from the tin.

You can install the software on win10 no bother, but the drivers are not compatable. VM on win 10 was very unstable for me regarding usb comms.

V178 works great on win7 32bit, failing that, xp

eerrr at v173, xp support finished

v190 and newer will only work with win7 32. it will run with 64 but it kept crashing and I didn't like that when working on ecu's etc

but its very stable in win7 32.

great how at end of last year Renault finally moved to windows 7! nothing like moving with the times

Seatbelts have been sent to a chap on Facebook called KolourKoncept to spruce them up a little and make a change from the dirty OE grey that was in the car...

Only posted them on Saturday, he sent me a message today to say they were done!!

Should have them back into the car this weekend.

Got the Clio wheels back from the Refurbishment Place and very pleased with how they look!! I think it’s a million times better than I would have achieved if I did try and refurb them myself.

With them back, it was time to Bob them on:

And then finally drop the car off the Axle Stands/gigantic pieces of wood!

Thrilled with how it looks.... BUT I do think it’s TOO low, so going to have a little fettle with the coilovers in coming days.

With the Clio nearing completion yesterday, I did something I’ve wanted to do for ages, take a picture of all my cars together.

It was the first time I’d ever driven the Clio as I manoeuvred it around my driveway.

Of course, being a Renault, it was then I found out that the fecking Power Steering pump wasn’t at all happy with its lot, as it was Squealing and grinding when the steering was at full lock...

So I pulled it out this morning, and just ordered a new one.

The pressure is starting to build now as I’ve got it booked in for mapping in July, so need to get it fully roadworthy sharpish..!
