Megane Big Steve Raider’s - Megane 300 Trophy

Love abit of soft water... I use spotless water 0 particles per billion... Personally I think it gives a better finish...

At home you only really need it for the rinse phase, and never with a jet wash (will drain the resin very quick and works out very expensive).

You can use 2 di-vessels for maximum efficiency and will improve the performance of the resin.

If you have space Steve get a pvc tank like the ones for oil, and a domestic household reverse osmosis setup and just plump it mains -ro-ball cock- tank, then you have spotless water all the time

Taking the car back to the dealership tomorrow, to leave with them for a couple of days to see if they can figure out why the alarm keeps randomly going off after I lock the car sometimes???

Of course they’ve not got a loan car for me to use, and can’t give me a lift home, due to “Covid Restrictions” so I thought it’s the right opportunity to try my new OE Roof Bars, and take my Bike along, and cycle home after I drop it off.

Chuffed to bits how well it fits, and more importantly clears the Panoramic Roof, and allows me to open be and use it as normal when I have bikes on top!! cool.webp

Finally popped the car’s Trackday Cherry 🍒 at Three Sisters racetrack in Wigan with a few other usual suspects:

SUPER CHUFFED with the car and how it performed!! The dry track and Bridgestone S007’s were an Excellent combination!!!

Found an app called LapTrophy which used GPS to give you some accurate lap times. Not sure how much to believe it… but it said my FTD was the 3rd fastest time on the app???

Thanks for reading!!

Dug out my old Summer wheels, for Winter wheel s for the new Trophy. Didn’t think the lightweight Fuji wheels, and Trackday Bridgestone S007’s would be up to a British winter and the Salty roads!

Never thought I would say this, as I’ve never been a fan… but I think I may powdercoat them Black or Anthracite next summer..!? 🤔

I have to say for many many years never bothered with winter tyres/2nd set, even ran r888 on the old vx220 through one winter (some interesting moments had there)

But when it gets into proper winter temps and especially ice/snow they sure do what they say on the tin

Good call @Big Steve - Raider saving the fancy wheels and tyres for better months and avoid evil road salt 😉

Winter alloys def show off the very nice brake setup more👌

I’ll never forget once trying to get up a slip-road off the M1 in my Mondeo when it started to snow ⛄️ one day, and very nearly not making it!! It was at that exact point, where I decided to get winter tyres every year since!

And have they come in useful!?? Dam yes! Many times I can get to where I need to if/when the weather turns!

So as I’ve MASSIVELY OVERPOSTED on that thread, I’m just back from a fabulous weekend at the Nordschleife in my new Meggy, and she performed faultlessly!!! Lapped up the long drive, and couple of hectic laps!

To say thank you, I got my new winter tyres fitted this morning by a local tyre-shop that always look after me:

Went for a set of Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 as they recently won the top spot in the Autoexpress Winter Tyres Test for 2021:
