5 GT Turbo Back with a Raider - street sleeper

this will be a stormer once done. water injection too?

Hope so mate :i-m_so_happy.gif:
The water injection kit come up at a good price, one reason I got it was my intercooler already has a hole drilled in the outlet ready for a nozzle so thought may as well fill it in plus it will only be used with methonal so will aid cooling bit more
Will only be switched on at very high boost if charge temps creep up

Evening though it was bloody cold out today I thought i'd try get a few bits done to the Raider
I managed to get:
-Adjustable FPR mounted, still need to pipe it up
-Driveshafts fitted
-New steering rack gaitors fitted
-Lower steering column swaped for GTX item and connected to steering rack
-New engine mount brackets fitted
-Chargecooler rad fitted
-Wiring loom fitted to the engine
-short shift gear lever fitted
-Williams wheels fitted

Still fair few bits to do but the big list is getting smaller, few pics for you

Cheers mate
The manifold unfortunately didn't fit quite right so has gone away for modifying, the design has changed abit since the pic was taken. Hope to have it back again soon

Manifold is done and fits lovely!

The downpipe has been started too, will get the bottom flange positioned over Christmas

In the picture you can see I have moved the fuel pressure regulator, I have mounted it onto the engine itself. It looks lot neater fitted there instead of in the bulkhead plus it saves running more pipes into the bulkhead too

Managed to get the water injection kit mounted too in the scuttle area, fabricated a mount at work for it to sit on so looks bit neater

Not done too much to it over the xmas period, fitted the exhaust and inlet manifold up for the final time (hopefully) and trial fitted the carb on. Few more bits got fitted up too but been busy doing other bits instead to lots to it
Just waiting for a few more bits to turn up then I will have another good crack at it

Hopefully will have a nice update soon, had a few bits delivered recently so will plan another weekend on the car soon. List of bits to do next:
-Fit new Spax suspension (replacing the Gaz coilovers)
-New air filter
-New anti roll bar bushes
-Modify engine wiring loom
-Fit new oil drain
-Make new oil feed
-Door badges
-Replace drivers seat runners
-Mount charge cooler pump and plumb up

Once I got those bits done I can make a start plumbing the engine up
Almost there now

Been little while since I have updated this thread, have made abit more progress so will go through it all here

Firstly I swapped out the Gaz coilovers the car had to conventional suspension, I've had a set of Gaz before and for the road I find them too hard so off they came
In their place went a set of Spax VAX shocks with Apex -50mm springs, lot more comfy for the road

My new external wastegate turned up too, gone for a Turbosmart Ultra 38 in black, lot smaller than most externals but does the job well. Has a 14psi spring fitted but seeing that being changed someday soon

I've had slight change of plan on the engine too, as it's going to be a nice driver with abit of power I have decided against going mappable ignition on this engine and also removed the vernier pulley and gone back to standard one too. To be honest i'm not going to develop this engine anymore so thought whatever it produces power wise now it will stay like that, I have plans for another engine/car which will have all the tweeks and further development done to it. Will reveal that soon
So I bought a good condition AEI unit and all necessary bits to go back to normal ignition, unfortunately fitting the AEI meant the header tank has had to move aswell as the water injection kit

Water injections new location in the scuttle area

To complete the ignition system I fitted new cap, rotor and a set of Magnecor 8mm leads, was surprised they made the for a GTX!
I also managed to get a new air filter fitted into the engine bay, was abit tight in there but just fits
Wiring loom has also been sorted on the engine too, just a few wires to switch round on the main connector, I have used a GTX loom on this car
Oil return has been made for the turbo too, just need to get the oil feed made now
Oil cooler sandwich plate is fitted but need to decide on route for the pipes going to the oil cooler underneath the front cross member, getting abit tight in there now. Hopefully have that all sorted soon

Here's nice pic of the engine bay to show all the bits fitted up, almost there now
