Bought a 21 Turbo at the weekend, always had one on the fleet between 1996 and 2005 but none since. Its a project but has so many good bits on it I couldn't say no for the money :0). Needs turrets welded and new sills. Haven't heard engine running but previous owner was very genuine and said he had it running recently but the fuel lines are blocked where it has stood for a few years. Has full photographic and receipt history with 15 K of bills!
Engine spec is particularly interesting.
Kent F528 cam 1600-6500. NGK VX spark plugs. MD80S stage 4 Hybrid Turbo Dynamics turbo running 22psi max boost which has since been rebuilt with larger compressor wheel, compressor and turbine housing with opened up throats in the turbo to increase A/R. In car boost controller and boost gauge. Prima Racing Re-Programmed ECU with ‘hot shoe’ to allow chip replacement / mapping when rolling roaded. Scorpion single tail pipe stainless exhaust system with custom centre box removal. Modified MD97 Prima Racing Head with enlarged/matched ports to inlet/exhaust manifolds. Custom fabricated stainless steel tubular manifold, new pistons balanced with liners (individually and as set with (new) rings and rods). 360bhp max flow K&N cone filter. Milled out throttle body to 60mm to allow increased air flow. Samco silicone boost and some coolant hoses. Large front mount intercooler. Prima twin piston atmospheric ‘dump’ valve. Adjustable Cosworth fuel pressure regulator with gauge. Silkolene Pro R 15W-50 racing oil as specified by Turbo Dynamics for their hybrid turbo. Spal cooling fans. K&N breather.
Should be good when going, although the turbo sounds a bit big and therefore laggy. No power claims made, what do people reckon? Going to put some decent brakes suspension and tyres on and maybe a smaller turbo and use it for track days next year :0).
Which leads me to the questions what is available in the way of brake upgrades and what suspension parts are available?
Does anybody know what the chassis numbers run to, figure this must be one of the last 2wds made, never seen a K plate 2 wd
