5 GT Turbo B18FT 1.7 TURBO into my Renault 5 GTX

The engine loom, turbo, the intercooler and rad pipe work, exhaust downpipe from turbo and the rad itself and maf sensor maybe a few other things

Hi. I'm the person Mark mentioned.

I've got a 5 I'm about to break, and its got a VERY cool 480 Turbo converted 5, albeit with a suspected blown HG.
It's got a GT28RS turbo, Emerald aftermarket engine management (MAF-less and running a coilpack), loom n sensors to suit, bigger injectors possibly, full 2.5in (or more, unsure as yet) turbo back exhaust, full custom boost pipes, Pro Alloy front mount, rad n fans to suit, oil cooler, remote oil filter, electronic boost controller, the whole lot.

There's more too, but that lot suits what you were after.

In all seriousness I'm interested in that lot pm for the price your after and we'll speak, but payday for me is 28th so you'll have to keep em to one side for me for the time being :ag:

Update
So was waiting on shed, now delivered and built and gonna paint it tomorow. Started to move engine tools and other stuff stuff into it. Received my vice waiting on work bench though, should be here Monday. Gonna get some of them solar lights for the mean time and a quick scan off ebay shows you can pick up a bench pillar drill for no more than 50 notes, food for thought. The man cave is getting their. Josh out.

20160604_155906.webpMan cave painted
20160604_195047.webp Bench and vice built and fitted.
I've got Monday off and trying to leave it free to get most of the GTX engine ripped out of the 5, hopefully just sat on mounts for Tuesday when I'm lending a mates engine crain. Pull her out maybe next weekend, get the B18ft mounted on the engine stand and start stripping it in bits. I want the cam out the GTX, supposedly a good NA cam to fit. Anyone know of anything else that's of interest on a GTX engine?

The cam is worth fitting from the GTX into the B18FT, apart from that most of it is the same or not worth swapping over
Just out of interest what you doing with the GTX head and inlet manifold once you got it out the car?

Awesome, fitting the GTX cam with the GTX shims in the turbo head, would I set the valve clearances as if it was a normal GTX or B18ft?
Also as both engines have the same block, are the gearbox 's they use the same? Or do they have slightly different ratios?
And I've no plans for them as of yet mate why?

Once you fit the cam and shims its worth checking the clearances just to be sure its ok.
I may have use for them bits if you ever fancy selling them
The gearbox's are same design but differ inside abit, the B18FT one is better

Nice, what's the benefits? I've sorta fell out of love with carbs since everyone I've had has either had poor starting when cold, poor fuel economy or tried to blow me up. Although they sound the bollocks when running right!

Update
So I've had a crack at the car today, only for a few hours because it's f*kin hot and I'm feeling a beer. In doing so i found this...
20160606_143123.webp
That's the N/S/F jacking point, my jack went straight through the sill, I was using a bottle jack mot the one that holds the lip. So I'm basically posting to ask if this means the car is scrap or not? Can this be repaired, I presume the other side is as bad although not checked yet... Anyone who knows this stuff please let me know your opinion.

On other notes, I managed to get rad out various pipework, and other bits of tat under the bonnet.
Cheers

Never jack up on that point. Ive no idea why they called it the jacking point as it cannot hold the weight of the car without crumpling. Use the thick box section behind.

That will repair ok just plate it up.

Super, so although it's rotten it's not 'structurally' import as if it'll fail MOT? I'll repair it, i just wanna know my efforts won't be invane as it won't be safe or pass MOT in future. Cheers

That will be a fail on the mot.
"· The load bearing parts of the vehicle to which the testable items defined in Sections 2, 3 and 5 of the Inspection Manual are mounted,
· any load bearing or supporting structure or supporting panelling within 30cm of the mounting location.

Sections 2,3 and 5 refer to steering and suspension, braking and seatbelts respectively."

It's gotta be able to be repaired...
Realistically it's not load bearing until you come to jack up from it as it's on the sill. I take it I'm gonna have to speak to a decent welder who does this stuff all the time.
