Hoping someone might recognise my 5. All the engine work was completed before the last owner purchased the car and I'd like to try and find out what the internal spec of the engine is. A guy called Neil Spry had the engine rebuilt but he's struggling to remember what pistons etc were used. Don't want to overboost it and blow it up! Running a Saab intercooler and flowed atmo head is all I know. Any help or info about the car would be greatly appreciated.

Cars in with JL Engineering for some finishing. Runs GT Turbo carb with a Saab Intercooler but O blew my last 'dini up running 16 psi boost because it had stock pistons and liners :0).

stock pistons and liners are totally fine above that boost pressure, its the fueling and timing that cause things to go pop on these.
That's good to know, I was under the impression the ring lands were a bit of any issue. Any recommendations on who would be a good person to set the car up - I'm in north Kent by the way?

it can be done yourself with the help of other members here, depends if you want to have some one else set it up or you want to buy some kit and do it yourself. @Mart and @Brigsy are hot with the carbs (y)

North Kent? Me too! Where abouts? If he hadn't just moved to France I would have DEFINITELY recommended Matt @CRM! A complete master in all that is Renault powered!

After my last 'dini blew up I got the 'ump with it and sold it. Saw it at a show a few years after with a Turbo 2 style bodykit up and running again. Made 189 bhp @ 16psi at Power Engineering in Uxbridge

I'm in Aylesford, about 2 miles north of Maidstone Fat Roofer, where are you? Could do with finding a good local , versatile mechanic. All my contacts are a fair trot now and its hard to lure them over.

The new 'dini has an air fuel ratio gauge thingy majig in the dash so hopefully that's a good start :0)

@quadrastu remember picking this one up????

nice to see Tony back.....

I rebuilt it, got it welded in work and put it on the road..... sold it.... it was sold on again to someone who put the T2 body kit on it.... and then it was never seen again

shame as it was a rapid car
