Well contacted the 2 local dealers near here yesterday and they were both very unhelpfull!!
I explained that the car was undriveable as it was only running on 4 cylinders yet one dealer still said to drive it the 35miles to them!
I said surely that would damage the cats and he said yeah I supose it would.
I said I was worry about the car being able to get onto a recovery truck and he said that he last one they had in turned up on a truck and the bumper scratched on the floor getting it off. He said that wasnt really his problem as the AA recovered it!!!!
The second dealer was just as bad, saying it was up to me to get the car to them, again not their problem! She said just call Renault assist, I asked for the number, she said I should aready have it in a book somewhere. I explained I hadnt got the book with it in so could she give it to me, which she replied "I supose I can go and find it for you" 5 mins later she gave me the number.
I phone Renault and they were more than helpfull! So much better!
The AA man was there within the hour, he confirmed the problem and also said there was no way that the vee would get on one of their recovery trucks. He rung around to see what he could do.
It turned out that the only dealer with any in stock was the first dealer I had rung. But they would let the AA man have them saying they dont deal with the AA and the car HAD to come to them, saying also that they had already told me this!
The AA man could not believe that either so rung a dealer he knew well and they have ordered them for me. They are going to deliver the coils direct to his house so he will then come and fit them for me tomorrow at my house to save the car having to be recovered anywhere. He can do this all under the Renault warranty.
Sorry if that was long winded but couldnt believe it and next time if I have a problem I will just phone Renault and sod the dealers!
Oh and the 2 dealers were,
Holden Renault in Norwich.
John Pill Car Care in Diss.
So if your out this way in Norfolk avoid both them.
