Mines had them all replaced by the previous owenr, got bills for the lot :D

How long do they last ?? Or does it vary ?

my v6 only covered 17000 miles and first coil one went, 2weeks later it went again and then a month later three went the same time, which is starting to burn a hole in my pocket lol but shes worth it [smilie=bom.gif]

bought my 2002 v6 clio from a renault dealer 8 months ago, 2 months later i had the coils go, my mate who has a toyota garage stuck the diag''' machine to prove this... went to renault to say what the problem was and they turned round to say they had to do the diag'' test at a cost of £30 to prove the fault...... anyway, long story short, a few f's and q's and "c u next thursday" later and they replaced them under warranty. ......................................................................................................................... same happened last week... i told them to replace the lot when it happened at first !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like I have 2 gone now!!
Started the car yesterday, at first all was fine, then it dropped onto 5 cylinders so I thought bugger!!! Took the covers off while it was running to try and see which one it was and it dropped down onto 4 before I get the covers off!!!!
Bugger! bugger!
Its the back 2 drivers side ones.
Mines still under warranty so will the new ones they fit be modified ones? Is it worth me trying to get them to replace all 6?
What is the part number of the trophy ones? Are these available from dealers?

Try and get all coils replaced.

New ones will be standard items.

Trophy coils are not held in stock by a Renault Dealer.

Canbe purchased from Reanault sport at Wimbledon.

You will also need connectors.

And you will get as much informations as you require.

Well contacted the 2 local dealers near here yesterday and they were both very unhelpfull!!
I explained that the car was undriveable as it was only running on 4 cylinders yet one dealer still said to drive it the 35miles to them!
I said surely that would damage the cats and he said yeah I supose it would.
I said I was worry about the car being able to get onto a recovery truck and he said that he last one they had in turned up on a truck and the bumper scratched on the floor getting it off. He said that wasnt really his problem as the AA recovered it!!!!
The second dealer was just as bad, saying it was up to me to get the car to them, again not their problem! She said just call Renault assist, I asked for the number, she said I should aready have it in a book somewhere. I explained I hadnt got the book with it in so could she give it to me, which she replied "I supose I can go and find it for you" 5 mins later she gave me the number.
I phone Renault and they were more than helpfull! So much better!
The AA man was there within the hour, he confirmed the problem and also said there was no way that the vee would get on one of their recovery trucks. He rung around to see what he could do.
It turned out that the only dealer with any in stock was the first dealer I had rung. But they would let the AA man have them saying they dont deal with the AA and the car HAD to come to them, saying also that they had already told me this!
The AA man could not believe that either so rung a dealer he knew well and they have ordered them for me. They are going to deliver the coils direct to his house so he will then come and fit them for me tomorrow at my house to save the car having to be recovered anywhere. He can do this all under the Renault warranty.

Sorry if that was long winded but couldnt believe it and next time if I have a problem I will just phone Renault and sod the dealers!

Oh and the 2 dealers were,
Holden Renault in Norwich.
John Pill Car Care in Diss.
So if your out this way in Norfolk avoid both them.

2nd coil went on sat, thats two now, one at 22000 miles one at 23000.

Need to change my vote from 1 to 2 ^^^

Anyone had any luck writing to reno UK?

Ive had 3 gone, within a few months of each other.
I now always carry a tool kit and a spare coil !!

How much do these cost then?

Some people have quoted £155 for one, another persons stated £750?

The ones on the V6 i'm getting have been replaced so guess they've been faulty at times and I'm sure the guy said he got them at trade price which was like £8 each.

I'm just wondering on costs as obviously it seems it's something that will go at some point.

I got told but not sure if it's true you can use the Pug 406 V6 coils as there the same part number when cross referenced and it's cheaper to order from Pug.

Had a similar situation when I used to have an Ibiza Cupra, was always cheaper to order parts from VW as the MAF sensor always died.

Hi

I paid £155 for one at Ren Edinburgh and Ren UK not intrested [smilie=evil.gif]

Coil retails at £34.84+vat I got a spare one last week just in case I get stuck somewhere and one goes. I got 10% off for trade. Part number is 9633001580 this is the new superseeded part number so weither that means its a better modified one I dont know, its still a Sagem part though!
If anyone is getting charged more than £100 to have one fitted then they are getting ripped off!. The AA man fitted 2 to mine and reset the ECU in 40mins!

Phone Peugeot and ask for part number 597077
Cost £20.67 +VAT Sagem part number 2526140A BINGO!!!! :D

I've just had one fail and replaced with rug part at virtually 1/2 cost !!!!!

Had one go about 2 weeks ago whilst i was in Nice.. had set off for Monaco.. the day after the F1 GP.. was going o get some pics of the Vee in front of the casino!
