Clio Adeys Clio 182 with added F4R+t content

fitted a new stat today and topped off the coolant, should help my early limit issue. bodged on the old s2k filter for a bit of noise. should suffice for giggles till the other engine is built up ready 20180512_174537.webp

Tidied up the pikey induction kit a little, so it didnt look so bodged in there. Also re attached my arch liners, forgot to do it after fittting the splitter, they get very noisy when they try and fall off on the motorway.....20180513_154932.webp20180513_161512.webp20180513_153341.webp

also recieved my new gearknob and part of the turbo oil drain set up. That fits really nice as you would expect from an oem part an clears the exhaust manifold nicely

ffs took it for a spin this eve and ended up running on 3 cylinders. hopefully its a normal injector at fault, i know one of the lambdas is playing up too...... time to bust out the clip to investigate further

not looked at the faults yet but picked up the engine today. got lots of bits to sell on that are not needed that will offset against the rest of the build. Unfortunately ive lent my crane out so getting the thing out of the van and on to the stand was a pain, but its stripped down now and on there ready to test fit and fab up whats needed.20180516_123003.webp20180516_125342.webp20180516_135928.webp20180516_142316.webp

Out of interest could you put a 5 speed box on an F4RT engine just like you did with the 197 lump? Assumption that they're the same block.

yep all easy enough to do mechanically though you would have the same downpipe issues. engines are much the same for power limitations when ran at the same compression ratio tbh. Id say the 172 engine should out perform the 225 with the better inlet and more aggressive cams.

for me its just whatever i can make work easily with bits kicking about. The plan depending on funds with this one is to drop the comp ratio a touch using the later 260+meg headgasket, its 1.6mm thick and should allow a nice safe 250 on this engine, thats my target and im trying to do the whole lot for under 1k

Nothing major done yet. quick browse to see what fits up and what needs hacking away. So far the breather plate will need modifying and a small lump off the head removing, nothing major at all. Ill have to get hack happy with the turbo and inlet manifold too down the line.20180516_204807.webp20180516_205214.webp

fault finding on the clio this morning. checked all the injectors and they all came back fine using a multimeter. Replaced number 1 anyway with no noticeable change. Removed checked and cleaned the plugs and swapped the coil pack, still no change. Whipped out clip to watch the voltages on the lambda and saw it keep flat lining at 0v... swapped out for the rear one that i already know is playing up and it suddenly ran smoother than ive ever heard....... then went to shit worse than before lol. Guess i best get a new front lambda atleast. Local APD can do an ngk item for 40 sheets so might grab one tomorrow morning.

up in the air shots whilst waiting on the new lambda 20180517_144715.webp20180517_144721.webp20180517_144836.webp

also fitted the gearknob on. Drilled it out to fit nicely but gives that motorsport feel to the scenic shifter

Not too bad, ended up being 47 sheets. Fitted up and so far so good nice and smooth. Running on clip you can see how much its doing. I should of videod the old sensors output for comparison. The old one was changing between about 3/4 different values and holding on them, the new one is up and down the voltage scale quite nicely, quickly and cleanly. Will run it around tomorrow to make sure all is good.

little bit of material chopped off the head to provide clearence for the turbo, thats now in position so next will be modifying the inlet manifold and turbo outlet. i plan to lob the coil bracket off completely the same as @Mark Davis new inlet. once its all chopped up i can then get anything i need welded back up permanent. Hopefully i can get that part done by mid next week. 20180518_175845.webp20180518_175712.webp20180518_175717.webp20180518_175509.webp
