Abs problem! Break pedal solid

Can any1 help??
First off all I can't tell ya if the abs light is on because I'm unsure if theres a bulb in the clockset lol
No calipers are sized and all sensors and rings look good. I'm thinking either abs relay or pump?? If so is there any way of checking ect....
Any info would be great. Kind regards Alex.

have you checked the resistance of the sensors?

get the dials out and check the bulb....

Accumilator pump has packed up. It should have the ABS and Handbrake warning lights permanently illuminated.

Get a new accumilator.

....assuming the pedal is really hard and you have almost no brakes without hammering the pedal really hard.

I had this with the black-pearl....was stuck in a massive traffic jam & coasted down hill without the engine running...the pedal went rock hard & i had NO brakes.....after driving for about 10 miles the system went back to normal.....i put it down to the "coasting" but maybe it was something else.....the brakes went back to normal and the problem never came back.....

Will have to check the dash bulb first off. The handbrake bulb is fine and goes off when handbrake is down. So first port off call is the abs fuse and how do I go about checking the resistance of the sensors??? Cheers for the replies.

The ABS pump sounds like a lethargic fuel pump when you first switch ignition on.......if that makes sense? Lol

If there's no noise then do as Dave says and sack the old pump for a new one ;)

ABS fuse is a 3amp jobbie and is in charge of ABS and sod all else.

Under the brake fluid reservoir is where the High and Low pressure sensors live. I have known these to be troublesome once. They unwind and thus are replaceable to save you changing the whole unit.

so far iv not had time to pull the clock set out and check for bulb but have had a quick peek at the fuse box and it has the 3amp on the far left in the brown fuse section and its all ok. dosnt have the accumilator and can hear the pump when the ignitions turned on.

just a thought, would a sticky caliper mess the abs up?? iv checked all the wheels spin freely and they do but the far side front pads are good as gone but the
near side pads look brand new so could be throwing it all out??

I would have all the calipers off and exercise them. wind them in and out a few times, couple of drops of brake fluid on the cylinders just to make sure the seals are lubricated.

Has the car been stood or has this just started happening as its been in use?

Still sounds like accumilator to me.
