If ever there is a time not to be on shit old tyres its halfway across Europe LOL

We will have a proper wheel brace this time though mate, so when you he-man it it won't snap like a MacDonalds straw LOL

Funny, I was looking t my Uniroyals at the weekend and I thought to myself.... How long should these be on the car before I replace them? I'm not going to wear them out as I don't do the miles, but they are ageing...?

I would look at replacing them soon to be honest @Big Steve - Raider if they a re a few years old. By the looks of things your going to have to change the profile as locating a set of new 195/55/13 is like looking for a needle in a haystack

At a guess mine are at least ten year old. They are all cracked between the tread and appear to be very noisy and grip is shite. I have opted for nankang ns-2r, cut slick 185/60/13 at £230 for a set of 4...

Hopefully no wheelbrace snapping action will be required @DaveL485 ha

The date your tyres were made will be on the sidewall Steve, four numbers usually preceded by the letters DOT. These numbers represent the week number and year, so 3410 will be week 34, 2010. Personally I see the max life as about six years on a modern tyre. Anything more than that you're headed into ditchfinder territory.
