5 GT Turbo 5 Cup cars from other countries- Differing specs?

As title really. There was R5 Cup championships elsewhere in Europe, not just the UK, but anyone got details of the car specs?

Devil strut brace is always mentioned, but I've a beefy Matter one (has a matter ID tag etc) off a Cup car. I know Matter made strut braces for works Porsche race cars etc, but didn't know anything about 5s.

Do the cages differ at all? Again, I've got a Cup cage, its beefy as hell, makes a typical Safety Devices one look pretty feeble, but are they all the same?

What lb are Cup springs? And do they beef up the torsion bar? The Cup suspension I have here is mentally stiff compared to GTT Gaz Gold coilovers for example.

Cheers!

Good info, cheers.
The actual Matter ID tag says Renault 5 GT Turbo, and a load of German shiz I've not got around to translating.
Ref the torsion bar, I wondered as its basically the spring for th rear, and as the fronts are so mentally hard, wondered if they did anything to that. I know in the Pug n Citroen world they do, but Renault I've no idea.

The torsion bars were thicker on the Renault built Coupe's in the UK. I'm not sure about the Radbourne built cars though.

Yeah, that makes sense to me. Seems odd not to be, as that's practically like leaving stock rear springs on a car, and just by a quick visual, it looks different to me. I've got a stock GTT and the Cup next to each other, both with fuel tanks removed, so I'll try to a back to back comparison.

In the meantime, here's the Matter alloy strut brace (which is beefy as fook, but mega light), and the cage which I don't know if Devil or Matter or what. Can anyone ID?

The difference in spec's could between the European cars and the UK spec may be due to variation between FIA & RACMSA (now just MSA) regs in the early days with the European cars more aligned towards FIA.
I vaguely remember the original UK spec cars had more of the standard car look with only the basic safety items, original idea of the R5 TS race cars, but over the years the championship ran the spec moved closer to the European spec regarding boost control monitoring, suspension etc but still with slight differences.

Ive still never seen any documentation about the thicker torsion bars on a cup car to be honest. The manual just states lowering at the rear. I did hear about van torsion bars used as an upgrade however mine are the same thickness as a gtt

The cage is a Matter. 100%.
Thanks to Brigsy I found a guy in Belgium running a LHD Cup car with the same cage n he confirmed it. As the car I have is a LHD Cup car originally from those parts too...

Also realised the metal plate that bolts the front bumper to the wings is a Cup thing, as his also has that- I presumed it was just a bodge fix on the one I have lol.

The brake ducts will be the next question once I get around to taking pics of mine lol

Just got the digital calipers out on both the Cup car and my Raider. Both 20.75mm. Unfortunately lol. Saves me removing it and putting it on the Raider tho I guess lol.
It has got some other changes tho by looks of it, things look like they've been welded. I'll try and do a back to back comparison.

Ref the Matter cage n strut brace, I've got em on eBay now if anyone's keen, as well as loads of other GT Turbo bits n bobs. More soon when i get around to it...

The Cup cars ran standard torsion bars in the UK and abroad. On the rear anyway. Pretty sure of that.

The cages had two options. Most people binned the Devil cages in favour of the Safety Devices in the end because they bolted together and were not very strong.
This shows your cage with a part number if you wanted to try ordering one :)
