Xbox 360 HDD Upgrade

my xbox has a meagre 255 mb hard drive in it, im wondering what a hdd upgrade would entail? is it just a matter of buying a new 2.5 hdd and popping it in there or do i need to buy some sort of xbox specific caddy or something? i only want to throw a 20 or 40 gb drive in there, i have both here, anyone done this before?

No, it's not that simple like with the PS3.

Last time I looked there was a certain model of Western Digital 120gb HD which could have its firmware flashed to work in a 360 but that's it.

Maybe someone's found a way by now, dunno.

you need to buy a mcrosoft 360 one.

the hd flashing apparently no longer works due to the dashboard updates etc.

its a bit of a joke tbh.

however get a 120 or 250 360 HDD quite cheap.

this appears to be an official one but also seems to be some sort of an external one, id prefer just an internal one

there is no internal ones, they are al external.

the tray on the top of yours pops off to accommodate it.

ah right, that seems fairly straight forward then, i may get on this, the noise out of it with the discs in it is simply out of control

also why do you want a small drive, theres no point in it, get a larger one so you can put games on it.

how big are the games on it? was thinking theyd be about 10 gig or so each would that be right?

nah not that big about 4 or so gig, varies game to game.

would depend if they game is on a single layer or dual layer DVD to begin with.

Most 360 games are about 4-5gb, ps3 is where game installation is big, GT5 took 10 gig of space

sure i guess ill see what i can get in and around the 60-120gb mar, ill only ever own the gta series so major space requirements wouldnt be an issue
