hi,

what car is it, as in brand new, or just new to you?

once you've clayed the car, you may well find all sorts of scratches and marring marks, etc, so then you either machine polish it, or use a polish with fillers to hide the marks as best as possible.

AG's Super Resin Polish is probably the best bet if you're on a budget, but then top that with a good wax to seal in the polish, otherwise the polish will wear off in next to no time and you're left with all the marks again.

wax, well, depends on how much you want to spend on some, one of my favourites is Chemical Guys 50/50 Wax, easy on, easy off, lasts quite well too, or for black, you could get Dodo Juice Rainforest Rub, i used a £70 wax on this....

but as with anything like this, preperation is the key to a good finish.

cheers for the reply... compared to what im used too the car is brand new LOL... but really its an 04 407... has been owned by my uncle from new and i dont his cleaning of cars is anything more than a bucket of water if hes feeling active and a forecourt washer if hes in the mood for spending £2 on it... i know there are wee scratches just above the fuel cap where the hose scratched it...

bought meguires clay kit and some meguires wax... (halfords had a sale on and got free aloy polish  ) and when your talking about £70 wax... lets just say i was proud of mysefl for spending over 30 on those LOL...

will have a look out for a good polish with filler in it... think my brother has a buffer machine, but knowing his obsesivenes with cars and the fact he hasnt used it more than once im assuming its no good...

the meguiars wax is crap, tbh, deffo need to get a wax, or indeed a sealant might be more up your street then, cheaper than wax too
