5 GT Turbo What side does the battery go in uk - right hand drive R5 GTT?

I have seen the battery in right hand drive 5 GTT's both on the right and left? Where does it go?? Where did it come from the factory?

I am sure it is year/Phase dependent,
The early Ph1 had the coil pack bolted in the engine bay near the turbo, so had the battery on the left.
The later Ph1& Ph2 had the coil pack moved to inside of the scuttle area on the left along with the washer bottle so the battery was move to the right,
Please correct me if I'am wrong.

That sounds about right. The 11turbo also had it on the left ...

I think there was a few variations. Mines a Phase 2 (1989) and has the AEI inside of the scuttle and the battery on the left.

The reason for the question: mine is 1990 and had it on the right when I bought it, but I think the previous owner moved it there because there was evidence on the left of a rusted battery bracket which he covered well so I couldn't see the rust. Is not the same of the picture that one is sold, was a Spanish car so no rust...and battery on the right. I will probably buy the bracket and place it on the left.
