19 Umm a MK1 Renault 19 Project

Hello Everyone.

The weekend just gone i made a purchase. One i know very very little about.

Anyways i found a Renualt 19 MK1 for sale fairly local. I put a bit in and didnt think much more of it. Fast forward a few days and i know own a MK1 Renault 19.

I shared my joy/concern with my buddy who promptly jumped onto ebay and purchased himself one. Mike already posted his thread a few days ago 19 - 93 Renault 19 RT TD moon miles

I thought i would also post a thread about my venture into a 30 year old French car.

Mine has had a little bit of a harder life and has been sat in a barn since 2009.



I have also made a video walk around of the car and future plans.

First point of call for any 19 for me is to check the sills & jacking points for corrosion. Get a good look at it and make sure they're solid before you start burning any money on it. They are reknowned for sill rust, thats what killed both of mine.
