When I was a cabbing, I regularly picked up the head of Mother Advertising, he told me he was asked to do the original UK advert for these, but it was never used. He came up with the idea of having a 21Turbo suspended 1/4 mile in the air by helicopter hanging above a drop point, and an Audi Quattro a1/4 mile drive away from the drop point......the idea being that the 21 was quicker over a 1/4 mile no matter how you did it......it worked, Renault allegedly loved it, but never used it.

I personally think if it was my car I'd be wanting a 'driven' bit of marketing not how to scrap one Clarkson style lol

I know, I picked him up quite a few times as well, he thought he had artwork and photos, but to no avail.

Car minded fella as well, said he loved em cos they loaned him one, bear in mind when I saw him last he owned a Caterham, an E46 M3 and a 911, he still said the 21 was one of the most entertaining vehicles he'd driven. Like all of us he agreed it was real underdog.

Still better than what Clarkson said about it.......when we were at the Topgear thing, I asked him what he thought and if he'd ever reviewed one his reply :

'Ermmmm yeah.....ermmm yep comfy seats'

I thought it was the other way around.....the Quattro was dropped and the 21 ran the 1/4 mile?
