Other ( non Renault ) Renault 14 - Engine swap & parts

I've just taken on a Renault 14. I don't know much about it, it's my first Renault, but I wanted to save it from the banger circuit. I was thinking about a bit of poke and wondered if there are any other engines that slot in fairly easily? I'm thinking maybe a Renault 5 Turbo, or even a 205GTI as I know the original engine is also in a Peugeot from the late 70's as well.

That aside I'm also on the lookout for parts if anybody has anything a they are willing to part with?

Finally, and I know this is an odd one, but would there be anybody who knows of a car with sills that match the curvature of the ones on a 14? The N/S sill has a hole about the size of a fist in it so needs replacing, but on first search it appears that they are tricky to find at best.

Hi,
Just read your interesting thread, while I have no experience with these cars, I do recall that they have an issue with the engine mounting failing, which results in the canted motor dropping slightly within the engine bay making gear selection a bit of a lottery, we had one do this decades ago while auto testing on a grassed field.
I think the engine family shares its DNA with the Talbot Samba, and the ZS motor could be quite a peppy upgrade, these cars still compete in the HIstoric Monte Carlo events hence obtaining a motor may be expensive ?
