Twingo Twingo GT

ill keep an eye out for updates (y) sorted stuff, tbh i couldn't comment as i run without one. Double check with chris but i dont think it will effect mapping if you go there with it blanked off and refit one at a later date.

Yeah really pleased. Chris was spot on, took ages getting it the way he wanted it. At one point charge temps were better than expected so he wound the boost up, peaked at 19psi on one run, made 148hp. However it started to knock, so he dialled it back a bit.

Ended up with 144hp and 158lbs/ft at 16.5psi. Really happy, goes great!

really good numbers man, totally transforms the car doesn't it. hopefully your clutch will hold on with the increase, mines still good though has an intermittent slip every now and then.

Definitely, such a huge difference for a small amount of upgrades. I'll get a "private road" in car clip if I get a dry day this week.

Aye, hoping the clutch doesnt give up. Cross that bridge when I come to it lol

Awesome stuff. We have very similar numbers, one with a cat in place and cat back and the other with a decat but stock system, id put money on it making pretty much the same on a completely standard exhaust system.

Yours starts to tail off at the same time as mine and many others ive seen, after speaking to Scoff last time i was there it very much looks like the turbo is way too small for much more power. Possibly a restriction and/or cant flow more air. I saw a plot from a hybrid turbo clio, had more low down grunt but still tapered off at the same rpm thus leaning toward the back end being tiny and holding things back at higher revs.

I think you're right, the exhaust housing being so small could be the limiting factor compared to the rest of the system. Soon find out when you're running 170hp 😂

What did the hybrid consist of? Compressor/exhaust wheel and diff bearings? Not sure it would be worth the upgrade if the housings are the same size.

So I've got a little bit of blue smoke 🤔, it's not terrible so I'm going to keep my eye on things. Hopefully get a hold of a spare turbo just incase.

Cheered myself up by fitting a half polybushed dogbone mount this morning. Car feels much nicer. Good cheap mod.

Does suggest Turbo doesn't it... should be a simple rebuild though for a journal bearing unit.
Mine is exactly the same, though it only happened after fitting a decat, has been like it for over a year now. I switch the AC on and the extra load and increased revs clear it.

Mine hasn't done it for a couple of days now. Hopefully stays that way.

The half polybushed dogbone mount has made a massive difference to the way the car drives. Old one must have been pretty worn and soft. Only done the larger half after reading posts on CS.net.

I run the full purple powerflex on mine with the stock gearbox mount and a thin bit of rubber in the top mount one to limit movement. Pikey mod tuning in effect. Works really well, stiffened up the engine no end but without making it transfer too much noise to the cabin.
