Hy guys,i thought to present my long term project,at base a 1.1 Campus who recived a 1.4 gtt engine.Because pics value as much as 1000 words let's start with beginning.

How i bought it



Immediately i changed the sterring wheel,paint black the steel wheels and the most important thing,LOWERED the car

Off course the 1.1 engine was impressive slow so i was debating what engine to mount in.Found a gtt one at a resonable price so bought it.

Love those wheels,in my opinion she was looking DOPE
Off course i need some arch work and because i got some seriouse overheating problems i find a huge radiator and change it and changed the intercooler too

My first car was a red Campus, I loved her very much. Then I murdered her one night using some ditch finder tyres and a 100 metre stretch of fence posts

Ok,so after all o this i put the car in garage and let it there for more than a year.Sold the wheels,seats and all most abandoned the car.One day nostalgia hit and this is how she look





and surprise......she started at first key

I was absolutely determined to get the car on the road again so take the car to my friend to start work on here
And again let here there for some time without doing nothing to here.

One evening friend of mine call me and said he find a nice R5 at a good price.Want there saw the car and came back
home with this
1989 R5 Automatic 75k on board mint condition

Always wanted an R5 with big dash,full door cards not like Campus (even though i loved simplistic style of Campus) So the ideea was to move engine from the red one to this one.When heat come i was ready to start work.And here they are both cars together

I was pretty undecided,loved how the red one look,i wanted to keep that car for tracks,drag race,mostly for fun,car was only 700kg and with gtt engine was pretty fun to drive



On the other hand i would like to have a more reliable 5 and i was thinking to put a F7P engine on the white one.So with that in mind i start working on red one again.And started with the wheels










Looks pretty nice,so done all 4 wheels and sold them and again i left the car aside

Next year i decide eventually to put the gtt engine in the white one,mostly do to regulation.In my contry is not legal to have any other type of engine inside if is over 30% more powerfull then the factory one.At least gtt lump is 1.4 and i can somehow pass MOT,otherwise with a F7P,B18Ft you name,it you cant pass MOT and i have to remove it and put original engine for MOT









This was in 2013.From then untill this month nothing was done to the car.Again i left aside the car for a long time.Mostly because i was never a mechanic and always relied on friend for work at car.They have or not time,busy,not in mood when,when they could i didnt and so one and this is how we arrived to today

3yrs later,I had the opportunity to work as a mechanic and learned a lot.Now i can work alone at may car when ever i got some spare time.So here is how things looks now

So my friends this is how we stay.Was not a good thing keeping the car outside for year,what was once a mint r5 now its a pretty rusty thing and have a lot of work.I will defer body work till winter,all i want now is make her work and have fun this summer.After that i hope i can give her a good restauration.

Cut the front for intercooler


We changed the piping route,blows my mind what a mess was before.All the work other ppl did to my car before was garbage

And with cover only for test.Love the crazy look,hate the dirt from engine bay.

Engine bay looks terible now,it needs a good cleaning.I will not take the engine out,my friend leaves to England in May and i have to finish the car,so no time for repaint,but will defenitly wash it

Not a very productiv day.No mood to work,only replace front brakes lines,welded pip(no close pics,forgot,but you can see it ) and cleand engine.I think it makes a big difference.
