torsion bar fitment, Gordini Turbo

When i jack the torsion bar mounting bracket up to the chassis (to try and get the bolt through) it wont go far enough to allow me to put the bolt through.

I have tried putting weight in the car, I have also tried strapping the chassis to the lifting jack..

due to the spine orientation, my first attempt was for about 30mm, with the haynes stating a 40mm offset it should be easy for me to get the bolt through with a small 30mm preload?

any ideas?

use a scissor or trolley jack on the edge of the anchor bearing you want in position. - do the difficult one first, then you lever the easy side down and pop that bolt in.

I have just bought the original Renaultsport tool for doing these it was a good find but expensive!
If you are near to me or can collect you are welcome to borrow it, besides it needs a trial run :)
