You'll be fine! Williams was supposed to be done at 84k Sold it with 103 on it and it was fine! lol.

Get it done sooner than later tho! Replacement FR7 is about a 1/4 that of the vee.

Ali, what is that. That the name of the block?

I want too take it too someone good like Scott @ SG but If its going too him its getting everything done so i need a wee month too save up my pennies!!!

Still got a baldy and i dont mean my head :D

Don't worry over a month in 5 years.

If your really worried just drive it as little as possible and carefully. Don't rag it to death which obviously puts more strain on all the belts. ;)

Just get it booked in ASAP.

Peter :D

goody gumdrops! looks like i can put it off slightly. I know its not advisable.

I know a guy that services Lambo's and he told me that they are specifically designed so that its expensive too work on them. I.e dealers get massive amounts for keeping them on the road.

Anyone agree we might have a similar situation.... [smilie=hide.gif]

looks like its going too scott!

Swindon hmmm, sounds nice

Mines due end of this month to. I'm going to use it until the end of October as its only my weekend funday car and then its in the garage for the winter whilst I save for the cambelt, a respray on the front bumper and few other things that I need/want doing.

Dont quote me on it but a well respected race car team owner told me that 7 years is a perfecty safe interval for cambelts if the mileage is low. A quick look at the ribs inside the belt will soon tell you if it is going rotten. Having said that its a gamble and its gonna be expesive if it goes. planning to get mine done over the winter.

A low mileage belt is more likely to go than a high mileage belt.

Some will go early some will go late and it is very difficult to predict.

You pays your money and takes your choice.

Yeah, that just doesn't make any sense considering a cambelt is surely a wear adn tear item so it's wear is dependant on it's use.

If not used the belt can take a permanent shape over a period of time.

Similar tyres can get a flat spot if left in one position over a period of time.

In addition you get age hardening

I think that refers to cars stored for months/years rather than referring to low mileage cars.

john has a point... a car used at a constant speed has 50% less chance of belt failure.
stop start and short bursts is real bad on belts/clutches and engines.

i have over 25 years in this game...and lets be honest here...belt failure at 29k is extremely unlikely.
BUT very expensive if your gamble does not pay off.
