The Film I have just watched...

Midway.
Dip Uncle Sam wrapped in the Stars and Stripes into a Starbucks and you will be 6 / 10 the way toward the amount of YOU sssss A in this “movie”

it’s mildly entertaining but the over the top US bollocks is annoying and detracts from what was a sad time for life.

I'll play but in a superior Kermode manner ....

BlacKkKlansman.
Funny and depressing in equal measure.
A Spike Lee Joint.

It's part of my BLM playlist....

After the sad demise of Sean Connery Saturday I watched The Rock with the kids. Domestic Terrorists (pre 9/11 so not a turban or a pair of sandals in sight!), Poison gas, Alcatraz, and bad guys that can't shoot straight to save their lives. Whats not to like?!

Still a bloody ace film, one of Cage's few good ones. You gotta ignore the obvious plot gaffs and so on but Connery fits the aged SAS soldier perfectly. 8.5/10.

Godzilla King of monsters.

Not too bad, cgi is a little off but it does try to follow the original source material abit better. Not much dialogue, more a monsters/fighting/action movie. Follows the 2014 movie and has ties to the Kong skull island film (part of the monsterverse) though it try's too hard for that as im sure it was mentioned 4 or 5 times in this movie. Alright to switch on and stare at (y) 6/10

The last full measure.
A sad film about how Vietnam affected those that survived , those that didn’t and those that were left behind.
It’s very American , sad in places , and did I mention American?

Sad story , sad times but worth watching just for for what happened.

Ju Jitsu

Its been rare pickings for films lately so I gave this a shot seeing as it had Tony Jaa in it, from such delights as Ong Bak. Saying that it also featured Nicolas Cage which was a red flag.

Well. Fuck me. It was the absolute worst heap of steaming shite I have ever come across. I mean this was an elephantine sack of fresh turds straight from the bowels of the local cheap curry houses.
Its not even a B movie, or a C movie. Its an S movie. S for SHITE.

If you want to watch a shit story with shit actors doing shit acting, shittingly shit fight scenes, shit cinematography, shit music and shit everything else then this is for you.

How in the holy mother of fuck they got away with spending money on this screaming wanknugget of ineptitude I do not know. The entire crew should be shot and the director drawn and quartered.

0/10.

In a strange way you have to give Nicolas Cage credit for his total disregard for any kind of selectivity in the roles he takes. Completely indiscriminate. Got a script that's so shit nobody will touch it? No problem, get Nick on the line.

Thing is, he's actually a decent actor and has made some decent movies.

One has returned, having slept on it, just to confirm that the above film was indeed scraped from the script bin as they had some budget to waste.

Not satisfied with the self-inflicted trash-fest of that I gave this a shot last night

Sadly not even Jean Reno could save it, although compared to Ju Jitsu it was a film making masterclass. I managed to watch the whole thing without skipping anything, in the hope Ruby Rose would produce the same form as she did in the John Wick movie but alas it was uninspiring, cheesy, cliche. Ridiculous and unrealistic shooting at each other almost point blank and missing, Apartment complex with a convenient system of secret passages that ONLY one kid knows about. Yeah, right. 1.5/10

Someone PLEASE release a movie that isn't UTTER SHITE.... for crying out loud!

Saturday I went back for a bit of a classic and watched Constantine on the release of news that Keanu is looking at doing a sequel. GREAT movie, I would love to see more of Peter Stormare as Satan - I thought he played that perfectly.

Terminator: Dark Fate

Its by far the best of the recent films but not a patch on the original terminator , or terminator 2. Its a fine watch, take your brain out and observe. It has clichés, and destruction galore. Ignore plot holes and be prepared to entertained

Interesting times really. This isn't a dig at bias, or women by the way. Its just and observation. More lead roles and strong roles are being played by women. Is film becoming diverse, for diversity's sake?

TENET

It's Christopher Nolan so you know it's going to be a melon-twister. However, this feels like now he is just trying to confuse us on purpose. It didnt help that I watched it late and night and I was probably too tired to cope with the brain-cell frying time inversion concept. I need to watch it again I think. The action was pretty cleverly done, all in all a solid movie but you *really* need to pay attention.

6/10 - could have been an 8 but it just goes a bit too far. Would be interested to hear other reviews on it.

EDIT: Looking at the IMDB reviews it looks like i'm not the only one that thinks it needs more than one watch through. Thats not a quality a movie should have, IMO.

Not a clue what I had just watched. 2 films in one and just not quite sure what went off in 2h30odd. No inclination to watch again. However it was mildly entertaining

Wonder Woman 1984

What an absolute and total pile of crapola. I mean, the first half wasn't awful but the back half...WTF were they thinking. Even Pedro Pascal couldnt save it and i'm a fan of his work (Game of Thrones, Mandalorian). The writers of the script must have been on drugs, SURELY someone must have questioned the absolute dross that has been churned out. DC seem incapable of making a decent superhero movie. Even that fact I'd had a couple of extremely rare (for me) drinks didnt help.

Literally the only redeeming factors in this are 1)Gal Gadot's legs...hubba hubba, and 2)The Renault 11 featured near the end.

2/10, 1 for the legs, 1 for the R11. Go make it again, ask Marvel for help.
