The Film I have just watched...

The Gray Man

Not too bad, enjoyed it. Ryan Gosling, who I am not a fan of really, suited the subdued assassin sort. Had to get used to Captain America as the bad guy, but he didnt do so bad either. Sort of predictable, but, it gets so messy you dont mind.

Great action scenes, couple of OTT stunts but generally quite good. Best film I watched of the 3 this weekend. 7/10.

Awesome film, in for some mild easy plot to follow and predictability, bloody fight scenes, guns and explosions. Chris Evans was awesome once you get passed the "he's a nice guy" thing.

All The Old Knives

Oh my lord, snorefest, supposed to be espionage-y and that but they took a script and told it in the slowest way possible. Utterly predictable twist (more like a mild turn). Don't bother, Chris Pine stick to being Captain Kirk mate. Reminds me of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, which was also so slow it almost turned time backwards.

3/10.

Prey

A Predator prequel. Good action, little itchy chin on the story, and not as good as the original Predator 1 & 2 but easily better than the (mainly) dross Predator films since. Give it a watch, it's worth your time. 7/10 (Predator 2 would be an 8 and Predator 1 would be a 9)

Junt one comment though, I feel that an actual Predator with actual space technology would tear through stupid humans without a second thought. So - you need to turn off a few brain cells to make it believable.

Day Shift

This film fails in pretty much everything youd want to make a good film, crap story, crap acting, crap continuity, it's cliche and cheesy, predictable, I mean my kids could write better. I love my fantasy vampire stuff, Blade, Underworld and the like but...jeez.

HOWEVER.

I loved it. The action and fight scenes were utterly ridiculous in just the way you'd want. Big hitting, painful, messy over the top scenes. Great choreography that ive never seen Jamie Foxx manage before. 1/10 for the movie, 8/10 for the action, net score i'll give it a 6.5/10.

Trailer sums it up perfectly:

This is on my list for when I move house and have everything set back up again.

I do enjoy the predator and alien films.

Netflix - Nobody

Its better call Saul man!

Or more accuratly Saul kicked your ass man.

This film is a proper brain out fire and forget film. Its simplistic genius is its greatest attribute and the 2hrs of escapism are well recieved.

8.5 times better than John Wick out of 10.

Love that film!! Beats John Wick into submission!!

The Old Way

Erm, bit flat, predictable, you could have guessed the story top to bottom from the first ten mins of the film. Passed the time, nothing special. 4/10.

Operation Fortune

Typical Statham film, with a few laughs thrown in, however, Hugh Grant bags this movie a couple of extra points - his role as the eccentric billionaire Greg was utterly superb! Scrapes a 7/10, would have been a 5 though but for HG.

Renfield

B-Movie with a decent budget? I dunno, anyway, failry weak story but loads of violence, blood, gore, fairly funny. Worth checking out if you want something to amuse you without engaging more than one brain cell.
Agreed not hard on the brain cells but definitely worth a watch and a good take on old tale
