The Film I have just watched...

Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse

I mean - what do you expect with a title like that? Looks relatively high budget for that sort of film (well shot, pretty decent make-up etc.) and it is genuinely amusing. Not quite up there with Shaun of the Dead funny but pretty good and well worth a watch if you like that sort of film.
BUT - the eye candy. Wow. Just wow.

I think 6.5/10 for the film, up to 7.5/10 with the lovely ladies.

The House That Jack Built.

I am not quite sure what I just watched. Its like a tarantino film on steroids. Its macabre, its gruesome, it ran out of ideas at the end.

If you want a quality film to watch with your missus , dont want this
If you want a scary film , dont watch this
If you want a film that seems to explore the depravity of the human mind, I guess this is for you. I guess its a bit like saw, but different.

I am sat here thinking WTF did I just watch

I cant judge it just yet as its mashed my head out of 10.

6 Underground

Utter garbage of a movie in terms of script and editing BUT if you own a modern panel and a capable AV setup then everything gets a magnificent workout.
I'm glad Netflix took the option paying to see it at the cinema away.

A treat for the ears and eyes, your brain however will insult you for a few weeks.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

2.5 hours of waffle.......same Tarantino, different setting.
Even Michael Madsen makes an appearance....

I don't know if it was good or not in all honesty.

I enjoyed Jackie Brown, fell asleep 4 times during Pulp Fiction, Hateful Eight was a bore fest.

Inglorious was good.....I guess.

6 Underground
I liked it, brain out. First 20 mins was madness, gave the amp a great leg-stretch.

Code8 - Indy film, crowdfunded. Not bad, not good, bit flat. A super-powered construction worker falls in with a group of criminals in order to raise the funds to help his ill mother yada yada. Could have been a lot better with a bigger budget. 6/10/.

Ad Astra - "Astronaut Roy McBride undertakes a mission across an unforgiving solar system to uncover the truth about his missing father and his doomed expedition that now, 30 years later, threatens the universe. " >> Emotionless dribble, predictable, no vision into the tech that made interplanetary travel possible. For a big budget, big name production I think they trashed the budget on effects and lead actors instead of bothering to drum up a story. 3/10.

Joker.
An insight into how the joker became the joker.

It’s a bit grim and depressing and takes a time to get going.

Excellent performance by the main actor man Joaquin Phoenix.

7/10

Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker

It starts off well with lots of noises like these :

and

The story then seems to meander and get a bit lost for 1.5h before returning to a well known narrative.

Without going into the film as I dont want to give away any spoilers it doesn't seem like a new film, its just a rehash and edit of the other films with newer cast.

Its better than the other recent ones mind.

6.5 Sith Lords out of 10

The peanut butter falcon.

Not a bad film , plays on emotions a lot. Not an offensive film, not an inspiring film. Just a film.

7 Suplex out of 10

6.5 Sith Lords out of 10
I'd have to break it down for scores.

CGI 10/10
Score 10/10
Star Wars-ey-ness 10/10
Plot 5/10
Continuity 3/10

All it needed was Nicolas Cage and it would have been a space version of National Treasure.
With all the resources Disney has at its behest HOW THE HELL did it end up with so many holes. Watch this...

**SPOILER ALERT**

Gentlemen - The new Guy Ritchie Film..

Gangsters, guns, blood, violence, sneaky Russians, it’s got everything a good Guy Ritchie movie needs!!

Great cast, well played, fabulous storyline, I loved it!!

10/10!!

I never missed an episode of the TV show and on account of how bad the Sweeney and A-Team movies were I've avoided this 'cash in'.

This was, in parts, hilarious and yet easy to watch, no need to pause if you need a beer and a cameo from Ponch right at the end.

I'm glad I switched it on.

Hard to score though

6/10

Knives Out

Once you get over James Bond having a funny accent, it's actually quite good (if you like the super-sleuth sort of stuff). Very twisty, some great characters. Keeps you guessing a bit, couple of laughs. 8/10.
