5 GT Turbo The Bogey

Can you spray it green? I only say this because I keep thinking it is, then I see a picture, say to myself it's blue followed by oh yeah, every time ☺️

It's a shame all the hard work and tracking that went into getting it back has disappeared, it really showed what the club is all about .

:) the bodywork have to wait fella)) can't say that spraying it green is high on my 'to do' list!!

Fair point about missing some posts but if the chaps are able to recover something I'm sure they will shout up. Otherwise, onwards & upwards, up the ziggurat...& we all know the club/forum is growing into a great community anyways :D even without bounders & cads stealing stuff they have no idea wot it iz...

I have recovered it all, but replacing it in the DB isnt very easy cos we have started using up the post and thread ID's in the time since we restored the -6 weeks ago backup.

I'll figure it out.

Right where were we....this happened (car stolen):

Then this happened (car recovered & sent off for a bit of work):

& that is just about up to date :) I wasn't happy with the oil pressure after getting the car back, so decided on a proper rebuild. Then decided on a new engine instead - a 210 CV build. Pics to follow.....
Is there an echo in here? :)

Right then, the police have finished looking in this - not enough evidence to lift anyone for it, shame

Bike & Volvo no sign of them but might see some insurance money back for those, nothing as yet though

Renault in bits but getting some nice work done as you know

So, could have been worse! Case closed, Holmes!

Box & linkage on

Not sure about the pink leads but if they do the job then why not. I never did manage to get that exhaust manifold from Mecaparts so original 4-2-1 back on.

Fuel dizzy & turbo off for a rebuild also

that 4-2-1 doesnt look like it would be restriction in anyway? what were the thoughts for changing it?

I wasn't sure about it as not equal length & thought maybe where the 4 goes into 2 there could be a bit of restriction? The Mecaparts job in the link below wasn't equal length tubes either but was 4-1 & seemed like it would flow better

.....but since they can't be arsed to answer me maybe I can get what I want made up. The OE one is fine for now though I can worry about it later.

4-2-1 is generally better than 4-1, see the 172>182 upgrade for one example.

Is that not for NA cars? I tried to read up on it & just ended up knowing less about more things (as usual).

Stuff like:

4-2-1 was better for mid-range
4-2-1 less risk of blow back due to 1-3-4-2 firing order (definitely sounds like an NA worry as there shouldn't be much overlap on the cam)
4-1 better for top end
Larger diameter exhaust before turbo means slower spool

Not very conclusive. What I did learn was that unequal length tubes sound better. That'll do.

ah it's the old fail-then-pass sketch
