Hey guys,
Here is my lovely fantastic ace superhot hatch. I just love the production of Renault. as i was browsing on the web i saw a link of a 16v on auction. Starting bid was 150 euros. And it was raised by a 25 euro step. I wanted her. I just kept bidding without looking the car or asking questions.
The engine was just dropped in the engine bay with a mint gearbox attached on it. everything else included the old gearbox was in the trunk. Good thing i was always good with puzzles. After a few days of putting it all together and filling the liquids up the moment of truth. I poored in some petrol. I mounted a working battery. I switched the key and after a 4 second cranking the car came alive. I was as high as a american student in Amsterdam. And i still am. I just cant get enough of her

As i am a nature guy i went on a nice family trip to the lakeside not far from my home. Since my German bird (Opel Meriva) was in service i thought lets go with the real car. The forest roads where suitable for 4x4's and tractors. As you all imagine i hit the bottom of the car several times.
As i got back i lifted the car and changed all of the rubber holders. Only one was not broken. After installing the new holders i noticed, that the exhaust pipe was a bit off and scraped the heatguard.
And thats how it all went down the drain. I thought lets loosen the bolts that hold the front end tight to the engine and the result is here:

As u can see my first attempt was working perfectly until yesterday. Now im waiting for a special equipment for the drill.
Sorry for my bad english and for not using the proper terms and names on some of the details.
Here is a picture the day i won the auction:

and the first picture i actually saw her close:

Total spent on the car: 500eur (varios parts, lubes etc)

As soon as the clock got 5pm i lifted my car up and started working on that broken exhaust. It was impossible to do the job from the upper part so out came the forklift and the car went up.
At first i cut the leftover piece off with a diskcutter. Then i started the drilling with 4mm and continued up to 9mm.
The new hole came out nice:

Since i got it sorted out well i decided to change the front brake disks. Had a "whistly" sound in the front disk while driving that disapeared then i pressed the pedal.

Sadly the problem stayed. So its one more night under the car coming.
Here a picture of my "summer workshop":

So i started to change the fuel pump. Ordered it from ebay. Used the OEM code for correct parts. And this is what happened:

Looks like im going to modify
With the birth of a soon to be king in London the postoffice made me a present and i received my package from UK:

Since the car was already lifted i went all in and remowed the brackets that hold the spares in place. Cleaned it and waiting for paint.

Still usable:

And a picture of the girl itself looking like a cat in heat:

Well i finally got myself together and figured out the way.

Looks pretty good eh?
Im kind of scared that the wires are directly in petrol but if its ment to be then its got to be. And as the American youth say: YOLO
[BREAK=Getting ready for the overhaul]

The mailman came and brought a few things. Still missing some parts but a few pictures before the proper project report

[BREAK=The engine has left the car]

Well, The sun came out. And since i was stuck at work for 12h i started to unmount the engine. Standard stuff really. The car got lifted with the big forklift and a smaller forklift under the subframe with a pallet. Everything went nice and easy. Smooth as silk.
Here are some pictures:
quality is a bit off but here is the biggest coolant leak visible and its first on my to do list:

same spot diffrent angle:

And here is a properly working Bendix abs system:

here are some more wet spots:

and this one is just for fun:
Ill try to keep this report updated as often as possible.

The engine is the workshop getting refurbished and painted hopefully. So i started to clean some stuff to:

After tons of searching i finally got the last pieces of my front suspension.
The springs and absorbers are for the R19 16v. The top mount is for the ph1 Megane 2.0 16v. I got the information from the Lithuanian R19 owners club.
The only thing that i dont like is the blue colour. Oh well, better then pink

Meanwhile i got the valves and the rest of the parts for the engine. Should be ready at the end of the month (fingers crossed).
Total spent on the front suspension: 321.77 euros
Mailday:

and that added a lovely 94.23euros on the front end budget.

Grand total for all the parts: 715.86 euros.
And still missing the new brake system and a new(or better) gastank because rust has made a limiter of 20l capacity.
[BREAK=New year with new hope]
Well had a blast doing nothing now its back in the workshop. I needed a rolling chassis to get her to the bodyshop and boy was she up high with the new front end on her. Now its sanding, welding and painting time
