That is a 6v armature in the correct rotation and spline count for my starter housing, being posted out to me next week. Good news until the next F up.

I really do need to thank @Turbell some more, He keeps going right out of his way, stripping parts down and digging stuff out for this project of mine, just to help out a fellow Renault nut (y) Properly appreciated and owe you a fair few drinks now.

Engine mounts and a throttle linkage paid for today, Im now down to finding some castellated nuts and conical washers for the rear driveshafts and it can be put on the floor again and rolled about.

The nuts and washers can be purchased abroad for next to nowt but i hate paying 3 times the price of the item to get it here.

@paule78 has sorted me a set of washers and nuts off his car, what a legend (y). Another mate who works at a well known fabrication and hose company has also sorted me nearly all, if not all my coolant hoses too which i should be able to collect this week. Feels like after a few weeks of struggle the deliveries this week should see me able to test the engine and finish up the installation.

WOOOO delivery from @Turbell of the armature this afternoon, i threw it in the starter housing and built that back up. Bolted it on the car and it spins nicely i think, span enough on the starter to get the oil around and turn the light off a few times over so hopefully that's all good now. Really really happy about that. I didn't get any pictures of building it back up as i kind of got it done sharpish to prove it worked.

Next issue I've got no spark, i have got a new points set here for my dizzy so ill fit that this eve, i need to look into how to test old ignition components, im not sure if the condenser is duff so ive ordered a new one of them too. The coil worked fine on the last engine so im assuming that its still fine, fingers crossed.

Castellated hub nuts and conical washers here from @paule78 so they have been fitted on, just need to torque them and put some split pins in and it can go back on its wheels.

Good day all in all, just waiting on a few more bits and all we will be back on the way. Missed my 1st of July deadline but all being well it should be back up and running in a couple of weeks.

Good batting, with bits left over from starter I stripped for you I converted a 12v for my car......only been on to do list for 4 years or so!

one mans scrap is another mans treasure, cheers again for that, has saved me converting to 12v (for now) (y)

I spent the day trying to get a good amount of work done and completed to hopefully start the car. I checked a few condensers I had in and picked one that wasnt faulty and fitted it to the dizzy I replaced the points on. I have spark but its weak as piss. So I've ordered a new coil, condenser and some fresh battery cable to replace some that doesn't look to clever. Fingers crossed with it all replaced it should fire up nicely. I need to find a carb rebuild kit too as the accelerator pump decided to start spraying fuel out sideways.

Engine mounts turned up so they have been fitted and its feels solid as a rock, the old setup had 3 out of the 4 mounts ripped in half 🤦🏻‍♂️

On the list of things left to sort is an exhaust system and the gear linkage along with picking up the hoses for the cooling system. I'll probably move to that once I can prove the engine is sound.

Spot on . Great use of your time , you could of watched day time television or distilled enough water for all of us . Was hoping to see it at retro but all that’s gone tits Up .

Today i threw some hoses at the car while retaining the standard radiator. Its a little Heath Robinson but was going well until i filled the car with water. The old standard and probably very old rad spring a leak. Looks like it took a little knock whilst in the garage, ill blame the kids. So....im cheap... i like to make things work.... ive ordered the cheapest rad i could find that looked like it could fit. Outlets either side but facing towards the rear with mounting pegs so i should be able to easily knock up some brackets. Well it looks like everywhere seems to be having a sale on rover 200/400 radiators. Brand new delivered for a shave under £18 and looks to meet my requirements. Hopefully with some cowling and a fan fitted it should work ok. Its a more modern/thinner style radiator but probably has twice the surface area of the original. Im also going to try and swap the cooling system about abit when it comes and try and fit a more conventional header tank arrangement.
