image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg Been meaning to start this project for quite a while , now i managed to get a 5 a 88 but was only on road 3 years then garaged , so it was solid ,
The doner was a 2003 rear/side damage 172

Lots off ideas off different things to do with the build , custom wide steel arches front/back, intercooler in roof , going to lengthen it by about 6/7 inches
Moving the front struts out wards for wider track
There will be no space frame will all be welded in as if it came out off the factory
Anyway he's some photos off the easy bit

I am not sure what you will gain from two turbos if you run them in parallel thats all. One small , one big for gentle ramps.
Scoff has proved you can do daft power on one.

Compound charge it. As far as I know no one has done that.

Anyone know any different ?

I'm not sure either what the gains would be but just to have 2 turbos lol, certainly if anyone has ideas post them up , hoping for this to be built for national day , where I will
Be looking for a stand to show it on

This is what I am saying. If you are trying to avoid a all at the top end then use two turbos in series. One smaller for the low end , one for the top end.

Still reckon a super / turbo would be the way to go

Hopefully going to do something similar with my 8. Clio front subframe complete with brakes and suspension in the back with a supercharger running 5 or 6 lb of boost. Should be good for 230bhp ish with an all up weight of about 800kg.

Pictures or it didnt happen !

Handy tried a compound charged set up in the back of the sideways blue coffin, iirc the charger was causing too much of a restriction for the turbo to be worth the hassle of trying to get it running big power.

Was going to link you up but I don't have permission to look in projects, Oli started the thread but buggered if I can remember his user name, something like os1234. Search turbo toaster and should bring him up.

Twin turbo sounds interesting :read.gif:

Same here, with the 8 I could build up a Gordini replica with all off the shelf parts and it would be cheaper and worth more finished no question. But its been done so many times before. Going to keep mine as stock looking as possible, on a period alloy - but nothing you ever normally see on an 8. Its good to be different :0)

But without trying, how do we know? Did we get human beings into space without trying different things?
I didnt mean it like that.

I just dont see the point to twin charging. There is huge power to be had with a large turbo. See scoff for details. Adding a second charger seems like a lot of hard work for little gain.
