Simply French, Beaulieu - Sunday May 12th 2013

Only a week late... but..

Thank you to all that were able to get along to this meeting in the end. Great to catch up with you all again!! For those that attended last year, you'd have noticed, as I did, how fewer cars there were this year. Disappointing, but still not a shameful attendance. I think we were my far the best represented single marque club there on the day.. so well done!!

The weather held out reasonably well too, 2.30 pm.. so a bonus 2.5hrs from the forecast lol.

Any one get any decent pics they'd like to share.?

Looking forward to the next meet in 2 weeks time... La Vie en Bleu, at Prescott.

Was nice to catch up with everyone who came, the vees looked fantastic!

There's a few decent snaps on Flickr, mine weren't particilarlt exciting.

Learnt something new about the v6 rear bumper though, the depth of the return is greater on the phase ine than phase two!

Shaun, when we were driving back a bit slower in the drizzle I averaged 37.1mpg!! Never seen anything like that before in a v6!!

37.1mpg..??

I was only going slow to keep you company too.. I know you must have been cringing all the way home, having to drive your car in the rain. Thanks for coming along Duncan :approve: I didnt even think to look at the mpg's on the 172... Must have been well into the 40's doing the speed we were.. lol

I got it straight in the garage & cleaned it top to bottom when I got in. Can't stand it being dirty, especially underneath. Was really annoyed as I'd only just cleaned the undertrays on Saturday.

Next time ill make a quicker exit! Bloody british weather.

It was great to meet everybody who turned up. Learnt about the differences between the Phase 1 & 2 rear bumper too. Must do some digging..... ;)

As a first-timer, I must say that I was a touch disappointed at the turnout and general feel of the event. Of course the Vees we well represented, and the Citroens (with official backing), but the rest were a bit hit and miss. The museum too was nothing much, except for some one offs.

A few pics - Illiads were a minority, and we got an intruder in the first one! ;)

Look forward to Prescott though, and if it is anything like last year it will be a blast...........

Good to see everyone again and meet some new faces :)

shame it was a smaller turn out of cars than last year, a good showing of vees (or trophies  )
Didnt quite have that atmosphere as last year.. enjoyed it all the same! I will have to blame the weather ;)

Lankan hope I havent caused you to much headache for spotting your rear bumper didnt match the other phase 2's but matched the phase 1's ;) :)

Aah, so it was your fault I was found out.... ;)

Great spot. Now need to investigate whether it was an undocumented 'feature' from new, especially since #002 was an early build and a UK press car.....

Great to catch up with everyone ,as everyone pointed out a disappointing turn out apart from us ,but there you go . Duncan you looked mortified when I pasted you on the m3 ,you seriously don't like driving yours in the rain do you but good on you for being so caring about it ,someone will get a gem if you ever sell and maybe go back to the best colour for a phase 1 ;)

Good to meet up with everyone it has been too long. No worries guys for leaving me behind my phone didnt have any reception in the palace (I do like a bit of history). Took a nice a/b road route out. We are well overdue a driving only meet just a good blast out in our vees (or trophies as the PA man kept saying!) . Need Brett, Mulgari and Taipan's vees back on the road asap, add in shaun, maximan, simon, dulan and myself and there is a starting base for some good well attended drives. Maybe that's why all the previous interest has disipated because of all this modding lark! Brett and Taipan its all your fault!!
