2017 was also the year we were next to the hooligan test and next to the NSX but I don't know about last year as refused to repeat the horrific experience. I hope this year is not the same as 2017.
Graeme, did you read my last post above?!

Anyway, for your benefit, below is an excerpt from the latest update......so I think you can quit complaining and just turn up to the event.
"Abarth will be holding an Autotest Challenge giving showgoers a wonderful chance to pit themselves against the clock when racing one of its latest models around a figure-of-eight course - it will be sporty, competitive and fun."

Yes I did Lankan. your post says "last year" which was 2018 and I did not go to, hence my post refers to 2017 so I'm unclear of your point?

Aha, I now see that it was my mistake - given that the club did not attend in 2018, I too was referring to 2017. Was that the first time you attended Silverstone Classic with v6Clio.net?

If so, I agree that it was not a good first experience, but that goes for all those who attended, and one of the reasons why we decided to not attend in 2018. However, I have been assured that this year it will be different, and judging by what the organisers have stated in their last update, that appears to be the case. That was my point. I suggest we park this and look forward to the event in a few weeks.

I’m happy to ‘money shift’ one of the Abarths if they become annoying! Lol!

I received my pass in the post today. It’s all looking epic and our parade lap is an unexpected bonus.

Many thanks Dulan! : )

UPDATE - This update applies to all those who are looking to take part in the Parade Lap.

The track parade is scheduled to take place at lunchtime on Saturday (27th) between 13:30 hrs and 13:50 hrs. All cars need to be parked up in our display area by 10:00 hrs at the very latest, and we will start moving towards the parade assembly area at 12:30 hrs. As such, please ensure that you are in your car, or nearby, ready to go, by 12:15 hrs. We will be directed towards the assembly area by the stewards.

All parade participants will need to download and fill out the Track Parade Signing-on Sheet (see below) and bring it along with them, which will then be exchanged for a wristband before they enter the track. You cannot gain entry to the track without filling in the signing-on sheet and exchanging it for a wristband.

For some reason, if you forget to bring a completed and signed signing-on sheet make sure you arrive early. We may be able to get a replacement for you to sign on the day, but if there are many then it may delay our participation in the track parade or may result in us not being able to participate at all. As such, please endeavor to complete and sign the form before you leave home.

As a reminder, the track parade is to celebrate Club Alpine Renault's 30th Anniversary. As such, and as per the vote, cast in November and December 2018, the Alpines will lead the way.

If you have any questions with regards to the above do drop me a PM.

Thank goodness for that I thought you had had the same horrible experience 2 years running!
No, not my first time, that time was very enjoyable I recall, great spot near the large hardstanding where the Ferrari owners club was.

UPDATE from the orgnisers

"Your eticket(s) have been sent out to you - they are attached to your confirmation email that you will have received after ordering your tickets.

If you have misplaced this or don't recall receiving it, then you can visit the SEE Tickets Customer Service page here to download your eticket(s) again. You'll just need your booking reference number and either your postcode, the last 4 digits of your payment card or your phone number. Once you have logged in, you can either download your tickets direct from that page (you just have to scroll down a little) or request a reissue of the confirmation details. If you've requested a reissue, then it should arrive in your inbox in 5-10 minutes; if it doesn't, please check your junk folder. If you don't have your booking reference number, then you can get a reminder of your previous orders by submitting your email address where indicated.
"

Please make sure you print your eTicket(s) and bring it along with your Infield Display Pass, and, for those who are due to attend Saturday (27th), the completed and signed Track Parade Signing-On Sheet.

The (green & white) Infield Display Pass must be clearly visible when you approach the entrance gates so that the stewards spot you and direct you appropriately.

I'm planning on heading home on the Saturday night and then back to Silverstone for the Sunday as I haven't booked accommodation and want to get as much driving in as possible. Presume this won't be a problem as people will be arriving/leaving on different days?

That is perfectly fine, but please endeavour to arrive by 09:30 hrs each morning, and leave after 17:00 hrs on Saturday.

The weather is looking good. sunny and 24 degrees. Some cloud thankfully so hopefully won't burn.

FINAL REMINDER

With less than a week to go before we all congregate at the Silverstone F1 Circuit, below is a recap of what you need to do before you set off from home:

1. Print your entrance tickets - click here if you have lost your confirmation email.
By now you all should have received your green & white Infield Display Pass, and for those of us dropping off our Vees on Thursday (25th) afternoon, the setup wrist bands and tow vehicle passes. If you haven't received these then do drop me a PM ASAP.

2. If you are signed up to attend on Saturday (27th), print, complete and sign the Track Parade Signing-On Sheet - click here if you haven't already done this.
You need to be parked up at our display area before 10:00 am, and then be close to your car by 12:15 pm.

3. Check out the event timetable so that you can plan which races and live music schedules and other events you wish to view/attend: click here and here for more info.

The weather is looking good for the entire weekend. :approve:

See you all there! :race:

Further to the info in the post above, in case you don't have your green & white Infield Display Pass when you arrive at the venue, below are instructions from the organisers on how to obtain a replacement:

"....will need to collect your pass from our white ticketing unit which is based in car park 50A. This is just before the roundabout as you enter the main entrance to Silverstone on the right. You can collect on the way into the site or before as it is open from Wednesday morning until 8pm each evening."
