Silverstone Classic 2019 - Attendee List & Post Event Chat

Few pics from the weekend

Always great to see a few V6’s together. Also my first time seeing a Trophy in the flesh.... I spent too much time looking at it, and forgot to take any pictures
I’m 100% in for next year, can’t believe I’ve not done this event before.
Want to take my father, as he’d love it. So potential to bring a pop up gazebo down with us....... ref club stand mentioned ??

The parade was great fun and a memory to cherish. Much better at the back watching the other Vees!

I was grateful that we had hard standing, though the photos are less pretty than on tarmacadam. The grass surfaces were beginning to get muddy on Sunday.

The location (adjacent) to track made chit-chat difficult , however the lack of tent/shelter meant we were lacking a community hub too. I personally don’t think that this is as a flaw in v6clio.net, as I believe we need other marques to make up the numbers. FTR there was one Ph1 on Friday, zero on Saturday and one on Sunday. Great to see the Alpine boys and the Turbo 1 in attendance.

Huge shout out to Martin for bringing the V6 Trophy to add razzle & dazzle to our display.

For me, the real benefit of Silverstone Classic is that it’s a 3-day event and worth the travel from a-far. Premier Inn accommodation booked ‘way in advance’ is cheap, though camping is another option...

2020 is a big ‘V6’ year and prudent event planning is imperative.

You’re a miserable sod Sam! Flashed and waved at you like a rock bands wannabe groupie on Sunday about 4ish. Not a thumbs up, a wink or even a royal wave. I was most disappointed!! Lmao

Thoroughly enjoyable event and great to meet some club members at last. Many thanks to Dulan, Simon, and other folks who helped make it happen.
Will definitely be back next year. I thought the spot was great, even if it was not on a through route, it was seen from a nice elevated position by the over 100,000 people who crossed that bridge over the weekend. Great publicity for the club.
I thought the clio v6 flags and banners were great and nice to team up with the Alpines.

Sorry Brett, I would’ve been away with the fairies at that point. Too much excitement over the event days...

Lankan , Dulan cannot thank you enough for a brilliant weekend    Bring on next year :approve: :approve: Great also to meet up with new names and faces as well as the old guard!

Cheers Lankan, it was good to catch up with everyone and look forward to doing the same again next year.

Had a great weekend. Thank you to all for coming and to Dulan for all his hard work and effort organising. A very good turnout and lots of fun had. The twilight Le Mans race was a highlight for me (probably not for the Peugeot Team mind!). Was nice to get out onto the track for the parade lap too.

Top time had, fantastic event thanks Dulan for organising. Got to be the biggest turnout of v6clio.net members at Silverstone Classics to date.

Thanks all for your feedback, which has been duly noted.

A dedicated subforum has now been set up for Silverstone Classic: LINK
Please subscribe to stay up to date.

Will post up details/info as and when they are available. For now, I hope as many of you are able to make it in 2020, which is the Vee's 20th Anniversary.

Lastly, highlights of Silverstone Classic 2019 will be aired on ITV4, as noted here - excerpt below:
"ITV4 will broadcast highlights immediately after live coverage of the BTCC from Thruxton on 18 August, and will be presented by Louise Goodman and Tiff Needell, whilst all 21-races will be available on YouTube during the coming days."

Roll on 2020.............

Great weekend, thanks for organising. Good to meet you all and to see so many V6s together - will definitely be there in 2020!

A few photos attached including the semi-reasonable ones my passenger got of the parade lap and one showing it is (just about) possible to go camping for the weekend in a V6!!

Dan

Matt Friday pleaze :)

Matt - Phil here. You bought this car from me a few years ago. Might be at the show to come say hello and see the old girl. Would you mind?!

Sorry Phil have been off the radar and missed this, apologies for the very late reply! I never made it in the end, would love to get the car out to a few meets this year if not I might organise one!

Good luck with that.
V6s are very shy animals

A nice line up of Renault sport’s attending guys… Thinking about joining if there’s any room?? I’ll try and sort a schedule through work I’ve noticed no Reds in attendance …
