Silver 21 Turbo Quadra Resto

Nothing hopefully, he shouldnt have failed me on the rear pads, if you cant see it you cant fail it.

As for the track rod ends, I will have the car up in the air tomorrow with original wheels on and see if they have any play.. which I suspect not.

Need to check out the hubs see if the threads are stripped and possibly run a tap through them, or swap them over for some spares.

Will also check out some diamensions and purchase some longer wheel bolts for use with the aftermarket wheels.

Gave her a wash today, pressure washer has stopped working so was back to old hose and sponge. Looks blinging now without the green layer.

don't let Bidderman1969 hear talk of using a sponge to wash the car :pimp:

hehe, and you have now quoted it is twice as likely he will see now.. DOH!

anyway a very small update.

Bing Bong, update :D

And after

Quite a common thing on Quadras, it has been the case on both of mine.

12Months MOT!

What a relief.. Still some things to sort out. Standard fans are fooked and burnt out so she over heats. Might change the hand brake cables as I have a feeling they are 2wd ones and the hand brake is $HITE! Engine needs a service and front end needs respraying.

Took her out last night, wow she is fast! And only running at standard boost from what I could make out.. the girlfriend was incharge of looking at the boost gauge and she said it was peaking at 16psi so I assume it will be dropping back to hold steady at standard pressure.

Definitely need to sort a few bits; the prop is rubbing on the exhaust at times and it doesnt sound nice so the hangers on the exhaust need adjustment in form of a big hammer and some leverage.
Engine mounts need changing sooner rather than later otherwise I will pop out a driveshaft.
Handbrake doesnt work LOL well it does...just, so the cables need taking off and lubing, caliper pistons need working again.

Completely different to driving a 2wd, you get no torque steer so no fighting to keep it in a straight line.. which some would say is boring but it just get on the with the job at hand - going fast in a straight line!

Well today I did a few bits, girlfriend was at work from 11-5 so gave me a few hours to do the engine mounts, or atleast that was the main aim.
Managed to get them changed in no time, also changed over my coolant header tank as the current one was split and was a suspect to causing it to boil over.
Also managed to bend up the exhaust hangers to move the prop away, as I suspected it would it had been rubbing on over run.
And I managed to change the gearbox oil, much easier to get the fill plug out of the UN7 box over the UN1; sounds a lot smoother now too.

Still a few bits to do, need to do the gearbox mounts but they cant be removed unless the engine is out and subframe dropped. A few of the bulbs in the dash arent working. Install manual boost controller. Handbrake needs looking at, the calipers are binding and the handbrake cables probably need readjusting. Sooner rather than later as quadra rear discs are no longer available....

gutted, my clutch is now slipping.

ANOTHER job to the list.

I have an AP 4 paddle clutch to use on my new engine which could be put in on this but might make it a pig to drive. Or I can replace with another used standard clutch.

*sigh*
