I'd definitely be up for another run up north, all just dependant on my lovely work schedule :violin:

8)
We will try to accommodate all sensible requests to fit in with work etc! :violin:

Because we are looking at end of September time, weather and daylight will be the main issues so will be a shorter run on both time and distance though hopefully no less fun :race: :approve:

Can we have a 'Hands Up' for all those interested please?? [smilie=yay.gif]

Interested! Only suggestion would be a Saturday if possible, always more inclined to stay later when my alarms not ringing early on the Monday morning afterwards lol.

Duly noted and likewise prefer Saturdays for much the same reason! :approve:

It wasn't the pace that was making me back off at times it was fear of my undertrays on the really choppy bits, but as far as I could tell (or hear) they didnt catch once :race: :approve:

PS Tony I enjoyed our impromptu high speed session on the final stretch back to otterburn!!

It was good wasn't it....amazing what fun you can have under 60mph !!! .. ;) ...your new suspension looked pretty stable over the bumps... :salut:

Fantastic stuff - seems like everybody had a cracking time driving their Vees. :salut:

Would be up for it in summer 2016, if such an event is on the cards, but, from the looks of it, I need to weigh up whether I come alone or risk #002's interior having to be redecorated! :s

Good write up of the day Simon :)

Many thanks to Simon, Ali and Peter for putting together an excellent day [cmilie=iconcheers.gif], IMO the pace was spot on taking the conditions into account.

Some of those roads were superb for the Vee, if anyone hasn't driven around that area then it's well worth the trip as the roads are just great and so quiet most of the time :race:

I'd be interested depending on dates, and a saturday would be preferable :salut:

first off thanks to Simon H for inviting me along and to help pick an enjoyable route. As a first experiance in the V, i could not stop smiling from Otterburn to Hawick, and then when he allowed me to drive, WOW, what a machine. I now know why you are all so enthusiastic about your cars. The acceleration, the gear change and the noise. Im sorry if we wernt travelling as fast as if Simon was driving, but it is his car!!!!!!. You are a great bunch of petrol heads, and i hope we will meet again, to enjoy another trip round the english/scottish borders. Keep enjoying your cars, and hopefully in the future(once ive pursuaded my better half) i may join you as a proud owner. Peter

Welcome to the forum Peter - and thanks very much for your input for the route which was an excellent drive

I'm so so impressed with the KW's! The car has so much grip now and you can really power through corners with an almost abandon! I think raised up another 10-15mm all round and you'd have a serious B road thrasher, but I'm not doing that as it looks sooooo damn good at the height it's set at whilst still allowing reasonable fun! [smilie=yay.gif]

Many thanks to Peter, Simon & Ali for arranging a great day out. Thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone for the first time and had an absolute hoot on the roads. My run down early morning was pretty exciting too, especially the A708 Moffat to Selkirk and my run home finished the day off with a fantastic sunset whilst running from Galashiels to Lanark on the A72/A73. Whole day reminded me why I've had MrBlueSky for 10 years and no plans to replace. What fun. Definitely up for another run later in year. Cheers to all.

Hi. Been looking at the comments re the route 19th july. I appologise if the route did not fully satisfy all who took part, but is difficult to keep all happy.i did not know what was expected re a balance of ballsout driving and leisure drive in between. If i am wrong but it seemed a portion of drivers wanted a testing drive where others wanted a spirited drive with a relaxed section in between.I will try and provide a more appropriate route for next year. Any comments or surgestions will be gratefully appreciated. The bordes/ north england do provide an opportunity to enjoy some excellent roads. Again thanks for your comment First year was good hopefully next year will be better. Peter

Peter - I wasn't even in attendance but there were no major gripes cited in the thread.

Vees have some peculiar traits - they don't particularly like: undulating roads, narrow roads, wet roads, loose chipping roads or anything that resembles a tight bend. That pretty much rules out anywhere! Lol!

Sorry Peter, wasn't having a go per se. No offence should be taken. The route was superb. I just preferred some of the open but twisty sections. 10/10 though! We appreciate your support.

For what it's worth, I thought lunch was the most disappointing bit of the day and that's the bit I was responsible for!

Route to my mind was brilliant, first shot for this run and it was 99%!! :approve: I think on the whole it was a great mix of twisty, technical with easy going sections as well! Wet weather never helps with vees and this cannot be mitigated for. To me it was absolutely fantastic with the exception of that huge bowl of lasagna that I had to finish to show how disgusting it was!!
A few very minor tweeks now that we have the well fleshed out bones of a really memorable day will give us another event to be very proud of, I personally am chuffed to bits to be associated with it :approve: Bring on the next one, do we want a show of hands and preferred dates for the 2016 Tartan Terrorists Run?
