The chammy

Ouch, T1000 hiding in the gearbox!

My wheels have that type of hub flange and say West Germany iirc.

The spare brand new one I have has the flat hub flange and made in Italy I think

Thats 4 different ph1 wheels I have seen now. Bizarre.

Anyway I need to get a set powder coated fed up of rim leaks.

Yeah not good with the box

grand oh well. I never thought to check if there was pictures of cats jumping about inside a fuel tank just like I never contemplated giving a fuel tank a vacuum out either.

So the tank + fuel to drive down to collect + fitting + dead fuel pump as a result + not being able to corner due to tank design = not a bargain.

Clio valver tank is miles out and they have a wee auxiliary tank as the volume of the main tank isn't great. Basically the same as a 5 tank.

the megane tank from what I can remember sits under the rear seat bench a bit and that’s where you access the pump/sender. Its not as tall but its bigger. So would need to give up the fuel gauge as well I think.

Not wanting to spend more money to find out really.

I thought my suggestion was shit as soon as I posted it, lol, can you not fibreass repair the old one like you did with the motorbike tank, or should I just shut up? lol

could glass it but its a bit trickier to take off compared to a bike tank if an issue develops.

The solution at the moment is keep it full all the time.

in the pic of the new/ old circlip is the new one the duller one and the old one the shiny one? or is the description the wrong way round?

article is accurate. the old clip is the shiny one, the new one is shiny but resting on my soaked jeans it looks dull.

easy way to tell the new one is the fact it has the tab on it just like the washer.

what box oil do you put in?

I've always used Comma 75W/80 GL5 which I believe was the right stuff, however recently I went to get some and the packaging no longer has the GL5 rating on it. I looked on Comma's website and if you put in a 19 16V reg it now tells you they don't produce any suitable gear oil.

The 75W/80 (non-GL5) they now list on their website has the same product code as on the old bottles of GL5 stuff I have.

I emailled them asking what's the deal and got no response.

Comma EP 80 - 90 GL4 went in.

Most are GL4, indeed any garage supplies GL4 as its in the drum and everything gets it from transits to corsas.

Certainly I have always just used either auto fluid or gl4 89 - 90 and never had an issue. I even used asda engine oil in the 1.4 energy box for 20k miles as a temp measure (temp means permanent generally lol), only change it as the synchros stopped working, auto box oil in and it worked like new. Its oil was always immaculate when changing it.

The chammy still changes nicely aside from 2nd gear as the synchro is gone, the rest are slick. Going up to 2nd is fine its going down at higher speeds thats the real issue.

I wouldn't waste the money on GL5 anyway.
