Twingo Ricardo's Twingo 133

5 minute job after work as these arrived in the post

The reason for the purchase, one of the sidelight bulbs had blown and the OE yellow colour doesn't match the LED main beam bulb. Good friend Mark has these fitted to his 182 and noticed them the other week when I took the Twingo up to his workplace. One click of the link, ordered and 3 days for them to arrive. Only a small job but one that had to be done and now makes the front end much tidier.

Without the Twingo this week as it's at the wheel refurb company, loaded up the boot with the PS4s and left the car with them.

In my 23 years of driving this is actually my first set of wheels I'm paying someone to do 😁 my history of wheel refurbs have all been rattle can efforts on second hand bargain eBay wheels so I'm really looking forward to seeing them done. I couldn't stress enough to the chap there that I'd like them to be the OE colour, that they're an IXELL 205-110 in code... So fingers crossed.

Then, they rang me today " We've stripped the wheels down and 2 are cracked, we can have them welded which will push back to pick up date a couple of days..... And be another £80 on top"

FFS, not ideal but they're being repaired. I'll source a couple more over the next few weeks as standby.

Meanwhile, more OE parts coming in. Parts guy always on point.

So the Twingo refurb delay has now meant the service booked in this Saturday has been postponed to the week after at least.... The same weekend as the booked in detail day, next weekend is gonna be busy!

Had the phonecall from the refurb company to say the Twingo is ready for a Monday pickup #excitedmuch So the accompany the fresh paintwork I've ordered these wheel bolts.

I've also ordered the fitting kit for the Thule 754 feet specific to the Twingo from a local company and they should be arriving in the next couple of days. The last piece of the roofrack jigsaw are the rails which I've found on FB Marketplace about half hr away from me.

I'm looking forward to seeing the wheels now and hope it feels much better on the road with its decent tyres on. It certainly inspires absolutely NO confidence whatsoever when 2 of the tyres on are called Goodrides.

Roll on next week when I can do more bits to it 😊

Big changes and immensely happy with the outcome! To accompany the wheel refurb I had the Twingo booked in with a friend down in Surrey for a day's work on the paintwork. I did ask my friend what to call the work he's done as there are plenty of descriptions..... So it's had a major enhancement.

If it was a 100k car I would have left it with him for a few days to give it the White Details treatment, but being realistic I just said to him do what you can in a day and just leave it there, it is what it is, it's a 12 year old car. It's probably not had any treatment for a while so whatever it has on the day is a plus.

Pre wash
Foam
2 bucket wash
Fallout
Clay bar

Every panel worked on with the Rupes machines using foam and microfibre pads with various cutting and finishing compounds. Again this is being typed out 24hrs after the event so product names sort of escape me.

Waxed
Glass treated.

Sidenote while it was being worked on I swapped out the old wheel bolts for the new Neo Chrome bolts. It's really coming together now and it's falling into place how I expected it to look. Number plates will be ordered this week to tidy it up, plastic inner wheelarch liners have been picked up from Renault too so if there's time this week I'll have them fitted.DSC_1345-01.webpDSC_1344~2-01.webpDSC_1351~3-01.webpDSC_1352~2-01.webpDSC_1368~2-01.webpDSC_1363~2-01.webpDSC_1362~2-01.webpDSC_1361~2.webp

Looking sharp mate, lots done in a short time!
That's this month's budget done! Will take a breather from it this week then start ordering parts and book it in for a service for 2-3 weeks time. The wheel refurb and the paint enhancement were the 2 biggest jobs I wanted doing knowing it would make a massive difference.
