Alpine Renault 8 GTT

It looks like one of those jobs where you know exactly which tools you need, a plan of action and half an hour.
You then realise you need a few more tools, the plan forgot a step and half an hour was 5 minutes ago.
Once you’ve got the tools for the job you didn’t know you needed to do because it was in the way of the job you hadn’t planned to do and you’re now 2
Hours deep wondering where your 10mm is you put safely out of the way so it didn’t get lost

Can anyone help me out with a wiring diagram for the AEI ignition unit. i have the bits but they are not a set and have been chopped about. I know the centre 2 pin plug is the crank sensor with white and red wires which is sorted out . The anti det sensor has been chopped but has a brown and yellow wire plus an earth/ground . I have another 3 pin plug with only 2 wires on it a red and a white
Any help gratefully received

@Brigsy . Thanks for that ! Last stupid Question (promise) The knock sensor was chopped up, so do you have any idea how the wires go? There is a brown a yellow and a ground (not sheathed in the cable)
I guess I can tag the ground wire to earth and the colours to the plug. which colour to which pin I wonder
I also assume coil +and - are internally connected to the plug and the above picture is explaining about something else

Im not sure on the knock sensor connections to be honest. If you wanted to fit a rev limiter or similar, you will need to use uninsulated female bullet connectors on the coil poles once its unbolted.

Well it has finally happened. I put oil in the motor the other day and guess what , it leaks from the sump plug!!
In the Motor factors this afternoon and they have a sump plug stand and there is the Renault offering , so I bought it.

Now you can sum up the last 16 pages by saying -
It's all been fucked about with, except the sump plug and it's new.
More soon.........

The actual sump plug had been mullahd, by persons unknown. Sheer chance I was in that place, I don't usually use them, but I had struck out at Pirtek next door on clips

The main thing is you're enjoying it.......and you don't want to set fire to it, sell anything to do with cars and tools n shit ...... and take up gardening or rambling.......

Might be crossing my wires crossed but think I saw this on eBay ages ago??? Definitely think it’s worth doing something with the engine

Been a while so I don't recall where I bought it from ... right now will be happy with the stock C1J power just to get the car up and running .... looking back through Steve's work even just getting to this point has taken hundreds of hours of his time without playing with the motor ... sorry @Adey 😉

This is like lifting a sewer cover and looking in...
You're never quite sure if you are seeing the bottom of the hole or the top of the shit.............
We have a collection of bits that are not a set, have not run in years, have never been in this particular configuration before and we are on a budget
Need to get this working properly to see where you go next ..........

Steve 3 - Car Nil
Literally been too busy trying to sort this out , mostly my own fault . In the beginning Paul was going full EFI and bought a 60-2 flywheel . Fast forward 18 months and we are using the standard set up to walk before we run . If I had thought a quick message to @Brigsy would have cleared up the details, but I just didn't think.
Motor out swap flywheel and clutch put it back together .
Long story short it's running and the motor itself is sweet , its leaking from the waterpump spindle , the alternator is not charging and I still need to have a major Plumbing sort out, but I think I have it on the run now Proper............
