So update from north of the border ... Mr Swan says gearbox is ready





So to facilitate the install Steve sent me instructions on the hole I needed to cut under the rear seat base ... if only my skills and finesse matched Steve's but hey I usually wield an email account not a grinder.



Just handbrake bracket to 'modify' while Steve wrangle the assembly of my rear axle.

Future hole cutting tip - use a small hole saw at each corner, then join up the outer edges. Gives you a nice radius on the corners and avoids that nasty grinder overlap bit.

That is a great tip .. I will tidy it up and oxide prime it then have a cover made to bolt in place

I literally couldn't be happier with the build Steve has put together for me ... from day one I have had his unparalleled level of knowledge and skills to draw on ... now just need to drive north collect and then install.

I am resigned to being skint for as long as I can wield a ratchet.

So milestone update ... car back sitting on 4 wheels.

So the obvious thing to do in preparation for your first born child coming home is to cannonball up to Scotland to meet a Mr @Steve Swan and back the day before then the morning of cram an engine and gearbox in to the car

First challenge was simply getting the motor out the van ..



Once out though it all came together relatively easily ... a friend lending a hand to join the box and motor.




Then just under and in ...



Sat in place ready to get brought to life ...



Steve has built an evil camber and drop to the rear I am now going to have to match in the front.

OMG this build it super epic!! The car's going to look fabulous on those wheels!!
