As Title really, I'm familiar with the ones for sale at the moment (27/07/2019), but I was wondering if there were any members who were also thinking of selling ?
If so I'd really appreciate it if you could contact me, either through PM or call/ message on 07968714320
Not looking to flip, or make a few quid, I am a genuine enthusiast and have personal reasons for wanting a Renault 5 Gordini or Gordini Turbo, which will likely stay in our family
I'd also be interested, in any early mark 1 Renault 5, TS, Le Car, although as stated, a Gordini Turbo would be my preference.
Many thanks Paul Nichols

Hi there.
I've got a 1976 Mk1 Renault 5TS 1976 (1st year for the TS) - one lady-owner car that needs a restoration - The outside is a bit tatty, but could be used as it is. Maybe the rarest of the Mk1 Renault 5's? This will be the only genuine two or three on the road when done, and the definitely the oldest.
I paid well over market value for it 5 years ago because I really really wanted it.

It was converted to a road rally car from new by her (got a rally result sheet from 1977). It has a couple of works rally components on it (I think the oil catch tank, headlights, manifold maybe) and an early steel cage that became Safety Devices. Straight car with minimal rust (one rear arch, but I have a new panel and it will still pass an MOT). Not been on the road since 1991.
It has the super-rare early TS seats in it and a period Helda rally computer that'll sell alone on Ebay for over £500++.
Spare original skinny wheels with period competition tyres - tarmac and gravel (for show only).
I haven't had it running, but all looks ok and turns well.

I don't really want to sell, but I think I need to.

Price: I'd rather keep it than sell for anything under £4,500 as it is. For me, it's the holly grail of Mk1 R5's (other than an original racing Mk1 Alpine Coupe from France!) I may get it running and put an MOT on it, but it'll be worth a chunk more by then I think. If you are seriously interested, please come and have a look and we can discuss, or give me a PM and call :)

As it happens, I am potentially considering selling mine. I just don't have the time for it right now. Fully restored in 2004, great condition bodywise. Rebuilt engine. Loads and loads of spare parts could be sold with it - engines, gearboxes, etc.

Almost 70K miles, owned since 1998.

Electro-hydraulic power steering conversion, battery moved to the back. Tunable electronic distributor fitted. Light-brown, leather interior.

I've had trouble getting it running reliably recently - it starts from cold but not from slightly warm. I just think the original suck-through carburettor is too much of a pain. I was considering converting it to EFI, much like Kev Leaper has done. Could probably do with a rebuilt steering rack (I have a good used one in stock) and new rear suspension bushes. I have these in stock too.

Let me know if you're interested.

Considering what they are asking for the other two, this sounds a good buy.
My old man had a 5TS on a 'P' from nearly new when I was a kid, and can still remember racing a Porsche 924 in it, horse collar seats, it was a beaut

The seats are great aren't they. These need recovering but somebody in France makes new covers to fit. Wish I could keep it.
This one is a P-reg too :)
Tempted to put it on ebay running with an MOT to see if I can tempt some big money from the Historic scene. Who knows.

Loving all this mark 1 action . Loving the TS and my first GD turbo was silver with red interior .
Not to hyjack a thead but if any spares are going I’m interested especially a gearbox .

^^^^^^^^^^Square dials as well, ribbed dash?.......fwwooooaarrrr!!!!!
My mate had an orange launch model L ?......orange shiny vinyl seats, it was being reshelled onto brand new shell that used to be hung up at Renault parts centre, he moved it on and I never heard a dicky about it, wonder where it went ?

Wow, wonder where that went! I think there must only be a handfull of R5's in the UK onler than this 1976 one.... never see any early ones online... maybe I remember seeing a totally rotten one on ebay once.

I'd want to pay nearer 2K for this, providing it's solid and not a blow over, period Boutique wheels, but at 2k ish I'd say it was safe money, any rot in rear turrets/inner wings/ sills I'd walk away unless it was very cheap.
1108cc pulls them along OK, 5 speed, It's no Gordini......but, you spend little on it, and probably recoup your money, or make a drink in a year or two.
Ignition switch fault and worn seats mentioned will probably put fickle people off, but the structure would be No.1 on my list,
