Hello, I have a leak from the gearbox on my R5, from the nearside where the driveshaft goes into the box.
Looked for new seals and found them on here: http://www.transmission-rebuild-kits...-c-87_126.html
However there are two types listed, JB GEARBOX OIL SEAL SET (BALL BEARING TYPE)¤ and JB GEARBOX OIL SEAL SET (TAPERED BEARING TYPE)¤
And i don't know which i need. When i asked the above shop i was told "if diff seal is 56 od order jb diff seal , if diff seal is 70 od order jc seal" however the question is how do i know what the outside diameter of the diff seal is, without taking it all apart (i wanted to order the seal before taking it apart so the car is not off the road while waiting for it to be delivered).
The car is a 1994 L reg 1.4L, with 5 speed gearbox, the code for the gearbox is JB1035.
If anyone could let me know what type is required that would be much appreciated - many thanks
