Seems I'm missing a few bits from my conversion so things are going yet even slower. Now waiting on a new header tank and a bracket to hold it all. Should have the oil cooler mounted next and then hopefully I can work on getting her running. I have managed to add some rivnuts for holding the fpr and intercooler bracket the campus has the holes but no fixings. Also this morning I modifed the Turborenault downpipe to give a little extra clearance.
Boom about an hour this eve. Oil cooler on and tightened up, hopefully this will clear the bumper and still get a little flow.
Turborenault.co.uk downpipe fitted up and looks the business. i have taken the turbo flange holes out to 9mm and now have had no issue fitting it up.
Intercooler bracket on to eye up the position of the oem cooler, needs a clean and paint really but does the job as intended.
Slowly getting there, with the garage such a mess due to having no time atall ive misplaced the fpr and bracket grrr. Once I find that I'll get the fuel system in place .
That's all for today. Looking at it a lot needs a tidy up, tempted to just get it in and running nice then revisit when I have some more time nearer the end of summer
Yet more engine bay pics showing not much lol, cgb delivered me a new header tank and a bracket to hold it so I managed to rough out the new cooling circuit. I'll replace what I can with silicone at somepoint but to get it up and running it will do. A mix of campus and gt hoses have got the header tank plumbed in on the pass side scuttle area.
So waiting on a few bits to turn up to fault find on the ignition side so got on to cosmetics again. Bumper has been given a coat and all fitted back up. Looks very unsuspecting now also slapped the campus pulley off my other engine on this one as the gtt one was bent.
cheers buddy, could do with fresh headlights and front indicators but it will do. should be fun with even the standard 120bhp in, most wont see it coming
So home from work, package waiting, new tdc sensor and a new king lead. Poped the bonnet up and bolted that up as I hadn't yesterday. Fitted up new parts and nothing, no spark. So I'm scratching my head starting to get wound up with the car.......
Look over everything, oh yeah plug the HT into the aei lol, we have spark!!!!!!! Yay! Quick blast of carb cleaner down the carb, crank again and boom a quick few strokes of life in the engine I can now work on getting fuel to the carb
