Had a load of parts arrive this week that I've been waiting for, so it allowed me to make a bit more progress. First thing back was the fully checked and refreshed (interally anyway) gearbox. I was planning on getting the gearbox all plasted to make it new looking, but in the end decided that the paint would be the best option as it would match the cylinder head better, and I was quite impressed with the paint...
Gearbox came back having been through the parts washer so although it was clean... it was no-where clean enough..

So first job was a large portion of elbow grease, scotchbrite pad and engine cleaner:

Next it was a case of masking it up:

Then gave it a coat of etch primer:

Followed by the silver topcoat:

I then got back some of the parts from the powdercoaters, including the gearbox endcap:

So I could then finish off the gearbox asthetics, and fit the new rubber gaiters and nylon bushing onto the shift mechanism:
Next job was to fit the timing chain cover:

Then I could fit the new rocker cover, together with stickers etc..
I also got the exhaust manifold ceramic coated to see if the claims of lower temperature are indeed true... so I could fit that today, together with the Inlet Manifold:
So the engine is nearly complete now, just a matter of fitting the new sump when that comes back from the powdercoaters, but it's starting to look good now!
