Renault 11 Turbo Phase 2 Restoration

When you come to flaring, if you haven't got a decent tool already, do yourself a favour and buy yourself one of the 'powerhand' type flaring tools. Don't waste your time with the real cheap split bar type crappy things.

I bought one of these for doing all the pipes on my turboshed 19, should have bought one years ago!

Brake lines are coming along quite well now, found the best way to replicate them was to bend the copper pipe and keep cable tying it to the original steel line as you work along the length. That way you can see what direction the next bend needs to go. This picture shows the two pipes just after I cut all the cable ties to separate them...

I cant stand Kunifer replacement brake pipes being left as they are, that copper colour just offends my OE eyes compared the the original Green steel pipes... so I thought id have a go at:

@Big Steve - Raider

Update please sir, I am getting withdrawal symptoms ;)
Good evening Sir!! @Duncan Grier

Sorry things have been a bit lax on the old 11 recently, I’ve actually reached a point now where I’m waiting for the shell to come back from the painters as I’ve finished most of the bloody jobs I had to do already....!?

I was thinking at the weekend how long it’s been since I dropped the 11 off at the latest boat shop... anyone care to have a guess??

Well thanks to the wonders of Google, I can tell you that I dropped it off

🤦🏼‍♂️ Holy 💩 I didn’t realise it’s been that long there!!!

Moral of the story guys... don’t let anyone tell you a restoration is a fast process!!!

Looking good and you seem to be making steady progress, the last time I caught up you were getting things powdercoated!
I'm really into the the little touches with this one - seatbelts, steering wheel to name a few.
Nice to see your at the final stages with the paintwork too, onto the best bit of a resto, bolting on the shiney bits!

@Duncan Grier yes every chance apparently (problem is, winter is an ass sucking time to get a car transported across the country, and bloody cold to work on)

@Turbell yes the inside and underneath is already painted so it’s only the outside to do now..

Not sure if any of you also saw this, but Renault Classic are also in the progress of restoring a Silver Ph2 R11 Turbo! There’s has a sunroof tho 👎
