Is there bound to be much performance benefit to putting in sports cats? Will it need re mapped?

Nothing like bringing something ancient back to life but didn't see the point of starting a new thread.

As we know, noise is subjective.

Currently have oem manifolds, cats and collector box, this is topped off with a Quicksilver backbox. Doesn't sound overly noisy to my old ears and would like to try and sharpen the sound up a little.

Have spoken to Scott re tubular manifolds and sports cats however, reading this thread has left me a little confused as to whether it may be easier to either empty out the collector internals or do away with it altogether.

Is anyone using a modifies system apart from a different backbox?

It does get confusing... doesn’t help that each model has separate components.

The ‘holy grail’ is a set of sports cats that do not trigger the emissions warning light.

Mine has full torque technique manifolds and system no warning lights but doesn't sound as good as janspeed , no pops and bangs !

I’ve got Torque Tech system too. No warning lights - I believe the Janspeed system triggers the emissions light.

Have a few more things planned for the car so probably best to put the idea on the back burner for a while then do it properly at a later date i.e. manifolds and cats.

Spike! Still one of the better offerings, does away with the collector and its cat, sounds great with a good burble and nice pops and crackles on the overrun, made by Janspeed so good quality and fit plus can be used on track without bumping to close to the noise limits :approve: :race:

According to Scott, if the Janspeed manifolds are fitted with 200 cell cats it would be fine and no light should come up. Can someone confirm this?
