Remap chiptuning

I wouldnt use these - if I wanted a map I would go to EFI-Parts in Runcorn, he's very good on the dyno.

Generally speaking, unless the engine internals are enhanced (can of worms), it’s not worth it. See pic!

Re-mapping a stock engine might subjectively improve throttle response, but won’t be liberating more than a few horses. Not much bang for the buck!

Power chips on N/A engines are a waste of money, most just increase fuel and bugger about with the timing, majority are generic. Even a full remap of the existing ecu or piggy backs fail to generate much power but at least they are specific and shouldn’t blow your engine or wreck your. Cats :approve:  Enjoy the car for its quirky dynamics not out and out power, if you want power get a piece of turbo jap crap and boost it into oblivion

HI
I didn't think there was much chance of increasing the power! it's just that we have a long relationship me and the Vee and i just wanted to spice up things! she is definitely quirky!
thanks for all the advice!

I can’t remember what I paid for an RSTuning remap ‘group buy’ for Ph2, as it was such a long time ago. Maybe 2007?

The occasion was splendid, as were all V6 meets. However, I remember afterwards thinking that it was an awful lot of money for an improved throttle response. Some 15 years later, it now seemed great value, given the period of ownership.

Same could be said about the ‘lifetime RAC Tracker’ subscription! : )
