Recommended Diagnostic Software ?

G'day gurus

The car logged a fault on that simple on-board diagnostic; the one you press the wiper stalk button whilst turning ignition on. Came out with t--- code which I think related to injection fault. I cleared the error codes a week ago so this one is definitely new. Didn't feel or hear anything abnormal though. Could be because I drove it on a stinking hot 41°C day!

Does anyone recommend a diagnostic software that can extract error codes logged by the ECU? Something that can print me out error codes and some detailed explanations so I can post here to get some ideas what went wrong? I have heard of RS Tuner but are there other software out there?

In VW/Audi domain, I have this VCDS software which works great.

Being in Australia with no access to a Clio V6 specialist, I'd like to be as informed as possible about potential problems with the car before going to a Renault specialist.

Thanks heaps!

Kris

Try getting hold of a snap on solus or solus pro, these are cheap enough if the software is old or not updated, reads the v6 perfect, I use a modis ultra which cost me just short of 5k and there is no difference on an older system like the Reno.
Pm if you need more info. Spike.

Quick ebay search of Snap On Solus gave indicative price around AU$2500. Unfortunately far too much money for my occasional personal use :(

RS Tuner for EUR 230 may be the way to go.

I used a Renault CAN CLIP from an online auction site starting with the letter "E" and ending in "bay". Diagnosed a faulty flywheel sensor pretty quickly. You would have to obtain the software by other means though and run it on a laptop with Windows XP on.

Think it cost me about £150 all told.
